This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

We were scheduled into a filthy motel with horrific service. There was mold in the fridge, broken doors, holes in the wall as well as torn, water stained mattresses. We have gotten no help in getting a refund. We have contacted AARP, Expedia and Econo Lodge with no help. Always just brushed off to someone else. This Econo Lodge was downtown Salt lake City Ut. We stayed August 19 - 20th

When we arrived, the parking lot was torn out and had old vending machines tipped over in the lot. After getting our key, it didn't work. The room next to us had a broken window that had been fixed with a piece of scrap board. We were given a new key and told to meet the maintenance man at our room. He met us in the parking lot and said our key didn't work because the room hadn't been cleaned. Apparently he peeked in the window. At this time we contacted customer support and after being put on hold for a bit, were told to be patient with the staff. We received another key to another room. This one opened but was filthy. I have over 20 pictures to show details. The bathroom door wouldn't close, there were ants on the toilet. Holes in the door that were covered by some kind of discs. The water in the sink wouldn't shut completely off, along with the other things listed above. We stayed because we had no where else to go and at about 11pm someone tried to get into our room. They slammed on it several times and began shouting outside. We finally heard them say they had been told the wrong room number. Not surprised. It was a terrible stay and I would like somewhere to post my photos as the motel website has no where.

Country of complaint: United States

Desired outcome: Complete refund.
