4oceans misrepresents itself as an environmentally friendly service ( not a "company") when in reality it is a for-profit business making a profit and misleading the truth about in recycling plastic.

This is similar to Pepsi or Coke's sham recycling programs that keep people thinking recycling is good so they won't object. No person or company that cares about plastic in the ocean would promote "recycling plastic " as a viable solution.

4oceans knows that recycling plastic is difficult and not profitable.

Where is data that shows profit vs. the amount of plastic collected and the amount of plastic from that load that they recycle and at what cost?

Is 4ocean greenwashing?

This is called 'greenwashing' a deceptive marketing tactic used to draw in customers with false promises of environmentalism. In this case, 4ocean got a few things wrong in their marketing, and are definitely guilty of greenwashing.Dec 11, 2020
