Transpore is a common surgical adhesive tape available in drug stores, medical supply stores, etc. It is a tape used to secure gauze pads to the skin, keep a medical device secured, etc. (as is the case with any medical adhesive tape). PROBLEM: after being left on the skin overnight in the face (especiallh the forehead/eye area), the adhesive becomes soft and gooey...you can pull the tape off easily BUT THE ADHESIVE WILL REMAIN ON THE SKIN, and CANNOT be removed with soap and water, or even alcohol! This is a real problem since we are dealing with the facial area. I called the company and asked how to remove the leftover adhesive from the skin, and they said you must use baby oil, or an oil based lotion. They admitted that soap & water, or even alcohol (a dangerous choice) would not remove the adhesive! However, baby oil and oil based lotions both contain perfumes/scents and other chemicals besides the oil. THERE SHOULD BE A WARNING ON THE LABEL: DO NOT USE ON FACE, NEAR THE EYES, as the adhesive will not come off completely! By the way, I mentioned to the 3M customer service rep. that my complaint should be passed onto their research department so the adhesive can be improved. The answer was pretty much: "Okay, sure, whatever..." and the rep. hung up. DO NOT USE THIS SURGICAL TAPE ANYWHERE NEAR THE EYES. I am wearing a plastic eye shield (after surgery), and must find another product to use. I hope this warning will help others. Thank you.

I used a hand cleaning paste that I use in my workshop (Shield). It removed the sticky goo in seconds and no problem for my skin.
