I bought this mower thinking it would solve a lot of problems for me re dealing with gas mower start up, and maintenance. hmmmm After half a season it was back to canadian tire, it would not start. It was fixed but now the battery will either not charge or the charger is not working correctly, i called the yardwoks people...[protected] and they do not know what is wrong exactly either but siggested buying new parts. I spent almost $300 on this machine and think that the product is absolutely not worth this amount of money. Do not buy this product if you are looking here for advice.
I could buy a new charger...$30 and a new battery...$120 and still have no luck getting it going so I am now not sure what to do with it, throw it out? buy something new? or try fixing it to have the same issues all over again. Anyone know of a GOOD cordless mower?

I was able to cut my small yard front and back on a charge for about a year. (not counting snow covered grass). Then the battery would not hold the charge. CDN Tire gave me an new battery. That one has lasted 4 seasons. However, I must confess that I did not use the included charger. I have a computerized charger which I use for model airplanes and it put in a full 10, 000 mAh of charge each time at 2A charge rate. I suspect that the included charger (which was also low current charging) did not fill the battery to capacity. Now my battery started not holding a charge until it finally expanded and now is gone. Would love to get another battery cause its a great little mower.

The fact that Canadian tire - within one season of me buying the item - discontinued it, says it all. Yet the company is hiding behind the one year warranty on the battery and refusing to admit the product was simply a sham. I followed maintenance instructions to the letter and it still failed to hold a charge for more than five minutes after fewer than a few dozen uses. My complaints in writing have also gone unanswered. That should tell you all you need to know about this company. It's nothing less than fraud.

I agree with the above complainant.
I own a [protected]") and have an additional battery [protected] and an additional charger, and I have problems with all of them. Each battery is on its own charger but each works somewhat weakly, - and only for a short time (cutting grass for 5 minutes or less).
Two (2) of my neighbours used to own and finally gave away their similar "Yardworks" cordless mowers (20"), [protected], because either the charger or the batteries did not perform as expected. We are talking the give-away of a $300 item! - That indicates great frustration and dissatisfaction by the disappointed owner.
In my opinion "Yardworks" cordless lawn mowers, batteries and chargers are insufficiently designed products, thrown out to the mass market of electronically/technically harmless people who merely need to cut lawn. - There are understandably certain maintenance requirements which helps good product performance, but they are perhaps too difficult for an average home owner to always keep up, and they are easy to forget.. - This is a finicky product. This is not a trouble-free product and the grave performance risks should be more and louder voiced by Canadian Tire to the potential buyer prior to purchase.
