Xavier PhotographyWorst experience ever

I had a negative experience with him back in January when he HUNG UP on me for calling him unprofessional for changing a meeting via email rather than a phone call. I had all but forgotten about the guy until today when I received a VM from him at 8 AM upset about some supposed posting that he accused me of writing. He ranted that the post was untruthful, that he hung up on me because he did not want to work with me, and that I needed to "get over it" and remove the post. 1 problem: I DID NOT WRITE THE POST.
He continued to call all morning and left another threatening VM where he informed me that his lawyers would be contacting me and possibly serving papers.

He also proceeded to email me:

Good morning,

I came across your yelp review this morning. I'm shocked to say the
least. I offered you an amazing deal. I kindly asked you to re-schedule,
meet me at noon rather than 10am. Only to give me more time to prepare
for our consultation. I had to drive from Wenatchee that morning. I know
for certain you get your email messages forwarded to you cell phone. Is
it really that un-professional to change a meeting by a couple hours?

I wanted nothing more than to shoot your wedding and offer you an
unbelievable deal. I'm sorry you found it unprofessional to ask for 2
more hours. Because of this you missed out on an amazing deal, that is
not my fault or my wrong doing.

I hope you find the courage to delete that false post. Otherwise my
lawyer will be contacting you very soon.

kind regards,

Lance X. Lusignan

And text message me:

"I did nothing but try to help u. U ignored my message to reschedule. That was ur choice. U r not a client of mine and have no right to yelp. Tell the truth."

"I hung up on you cause I knew ud be hard to work with."

"My lawyer will be contacting u shortly, possibly to serve u papers"

Remember I DID NOT POST ON YELP OR EVER REPLY TO HIS 4 CALLS, 2 VM'S, 3 TEXT MSGS, AND 1 EMAIL (in less than 3 hrs). This incident and all correspondence (which I have saved) was completely unprovoked.

Make up your own mind if you want to work with the guy or even give him your contact information. Yikes.

i agree with every one of you. i am so disappointed and angry that i hired him as my wedding photographer. he gave me the same bs and never took any family photos which he promised. Im so upset that the reason to hire a photographer is to capture moments that you wont grasp the night of. i wasnt able to get any of it and i wont be able to remember some people who were there. Do not hire Lance Xavier, he is not worth it and you will only be disappointed. i read reviews and was really giving him the benefit of the doubt but same with me he was no where to be found and when i did see him he was outside with a cigarette in his hand. you should have the camera in your hand not your cigarette. he never once came up to me to tell me if i wanted any other photos or reminded me of photos that needed to be taken. hes the photographer he should work professionally as a photograher and ask questions and be around. i couldnt enjoy my wedding because i was running around looking for him but still couldnt find him. i got no shots i wanted done. do not waste your money on him. yes a good deal but not worth your headache and all the money you spent on your wedding to not have it captured.

I hired him to shoot our July wedding last year and wish I hadn't. He was very professional up until the point we paid him after that he became dismissive of concerns and very rude. He was 2 hours late on our wedding day. During our wedding video he is standing directly infront of the camera throughout the entire video. He even at one point looks back directly at the camera and continues to stand there. I now have a wedding video of my photographers back rather than my husband and I taking our vows. He took no pictures of my husband with his mother and father. Our contract said we would recieve our photos within 30 days of our wedding instead I received them in Nov after threatning legal action because he refused to give them to me even when I requested them unfinished as he continued to tell me that he had other jobs to finish before he could finish mine. He also told me at one point he couldn't finish my photographs because he had taken another job! By the time i received my photos after months of trying to get them he proceeded to tell me that I was difficult to work with was blowing things out of proportion. He also told me I was sabatoging his business and he would sue me for complaining. As soon as I explained that he could not sue me for telling the truth especially when I had proof. He dropped that angle. The end product was decent enough but definately not the AMAZING product he promised. Definately not worth the money I paid.

I'm glad to see this discussion has expanded beyond Yelp! I was the one who put up the original post, which triggered Lance to harass a different person, with a different bad experience, with the same name. I found it funny that my post was up on Yelp for about a month before Lance noticed it, and then all in one day, BAM. Countless emails threatening to sue me for making false statements about his business. Threats that his lawyer will be contacting me, and that I should remove my post immediately. Shocked, I removed my post, and left an apology in its place. I explained to Lance by email that I had done nothing wrong, that my intention was NOT to sabotage his business (as he had claimed in an email to me--one of the reasons he was going to sue me), but that I was simply stating my OPINION based on some of his behavior. I never made a single "false claim, " and was in fact very careful about my wording so as not to do so. I left the apology thinking this would be the end of it, check my email 8 hours later, and see I have 8 new emails from Lance... continuing to threaten me, saying that clearly, by my APOLOGY, my true intentions are to sabotage his business (that doesn't even make sense?!!?), and that his "lawyer was really getting a kick out of this." Because according to Lance, by apologizing, I was giving this said lawyer everything he needed to sue my ### in court. Within this stream of 8 emails, it also apparently didn't occur to Lance that I did not spend my entire day sitting at the computer, logged in to Yelp, waiting to see what he'd say. He acted as if I had been ignoring him by not responding within that 8 hours, and as time went by, his threats grew bigger. He went from saying "I don't want to get you in trouble" to "I warned you" in a very short period of time. Clearly he's ###ing crazy. I removed my apology, kindly told him to re-read the constitution so as to better understand the meaning of "freedom of speech, " and deleted my Yelp account. Completely out of hand, completely uncalled for. It really didn't have to become this, but Lance the decision to take the actions that turned it into this. Too bad for him. He should have Googled the "Streisand Effect" beforehand.

I am sorry to hear about your experience, but I am not the one that originally posted on Yelp. He actually pissed off two people with the same name. Unfortunately for him, he contacted the wrong person and began to harass me all morning until I called the police and they left him a voice mail. With that being said, I fully agree that the other girl should put her post back up and take down her apology post. I have contacted Yelp's legal team and have filed a formal complaint with the BBB. I fully intend to post my experience on Yelp once I hear back from the legal team. I have saved all voice mails, text messages, and email just in case his "lawyers" want to take a look.

In the original post I did not go into the first bad experience I had with Lance, but so his email and texts messages make sense I feel compelled to explain a bit more:

I saw Lance (Xavier Photography) online and really loved his website. I called him and we set up a meeting for 10 AM on a Sunday. Right before we were about to leave for the meeting, I check my email to get the coffee place's address and notice I have to new emails from Lance. The first one is requesting to change the meeting time to 12 PM and the second one was confirming I received the first one. Since I never responded, I called Lance to see if we were still meeting at 10AM. He answered and said he was planning on meeting at 12 PM. I was more than a little annoyed because I would have been more than happy to change the time so we could sleep in a little later if he had only called me. I inquired as to why he didn't call and he said something like "maybe I should have". I let him know that I thought he was unprofessional and did not feel comfortable working with him. The phone line goes dead.
I have always given him the benefit of the doubt that maybe I hit the hang up button or we got disconnected, but now he is freely admitting that he hung up on me b/c he did want to work with me. Furthermore he is insisting that he is certain that I have an iphone and get all my emails forwarded to my phone. I don't know where he came up with this, but I have a LG Dare, and while I can access email, it's not something that I generally do. Regardless as the customer it is not my job to be on top of things. If I am paying someone thousands of dollars, the can get up a few hours early to have the presentation ready and be on time.
I don't know how he plans on staying in business if he can't take criticism. Please - what kind of guy threatens legal action against someone that says something negative. Apparently he has not heard of our Freedom of Speech, but I intend to make him fully aware. I hope that when some googles Xavier Photography or Lance Xavier they see these posts. Here is the information, make your own informed decision.

Why did you delete the negative yelp posting? I looked at yelp a week ago and there were two negative ratings on Lance. Today I checked yelp and those negative postings are gone, looks like he's been threatening his post clients with his lawyers (that he doesn’t have). I really hope that you will post back your review about Lance on Yelp. No one deserves to deal with someone like Lance on their wedding day or prior to that. Everything that happens towards and on the day of the wedding will be remembered for the rest of the life.

Anyways the reason I'm writing is because me and my husband had Lance take pictures from our wedding, this past summer. The first appointment we had with him, he was very professional, very nice, seemed like he cared for his clients. When we hired him to shot our wedding, he was a nightmare. On the day of our wedding, he seemed were stressed, like he didn't sleep last night, he acted very disturbed when we proposed to him different ideas or poses for pictures. During our wedding he was always missing, I don’t know where he was. (When we signed the contract, he told us he would stay as long as we need him at the wedding, we told him that we need him to stay until 8pm, he AGREED.) When we were about to cut our cake around 6pm, we had to send our uncle to look for him, turns out he was already packing his staff in his car getting ready to leave. He also promised us to take family portraits during our wedding, when the wedding day came, he never said a single thing about portraits. He left right after we cut our cake.
When we got our pictures 4 weeks after the wedding, we were very disappointed and sad. Out of 600 images we received there are 6 pictures that are good. As we were looking through our 600 pictures, we noticed he didn’t even capture our FIRST KISS. Who does that???? That’s a very important detail of a wedding, that we are never going to see!!!

Another thing I want to mention about Lance, that was a little disturbing, is that after you hire him, he doesn’t like to answer phone calls. He likes text messaging.

This whole experience with Lance has been very unpleasant. I hope the upcoming bride or groom will read these reviews and think twice before hiring Lance.
