August 27, 2018 (0ver a year ago}, I was seen at the Sentara Lake Ridge ER, Lake Ridge, VA. I had slipped and fallen, hitting the back of my head. If I can recall, I had a CT scan and was seen by Dr. Maeso. I was at the ER about an hour. There were no followup visits. I have not been billed by Sentara for the CT scan. I think they were paid by Medicare. Much to my surprise, long after I had forgotten the incident, on Sept. 9, 2019 I received a bill for $1511.78. for doctor's services. I tried billing_questions@emcare.com without success.

This should be billed to my Medicare
Medicare # 6KM7-QE-7 AM56. Parts A and B
And billed to Anthem Blue Cross ID XDD288A55332
Group KS030A Plan Code 040

Whipple Tree account VAB [protected]

This seems to be a "surprise" (ambush) billing, with threat of referral collections within sixteen days

They seem to have a history of this ! I was involved in an accident and I told them to bill my insurance. I then moved out of the state and never though about it because I thought my insurance I have took care of it. Until a year and a half later I went to buy a house and was turned down because they reported me to a credit agency for an unpaid billed. Since it is now past a year my insurance will not let them file it. After reading lots of reviews I am seeing they seem to do this to everyone. I don't want to have to pay this bill because it is not fair but I don't know what else to do because this negative remark on my credit is hurting me. This is awful what they are doing
