On Oct. 8, 2020, I placed a teeshirt order with What on Earth and paid for it with my credit card. When I received my statement from my credit card company today, I found a charge of $1495 for WhatonEarthVIPInsider. I phoned the company twice but was on hold each time for 5 minutes 47 seconds and 4 minutes 11 seconds. So, I e-mailed them to ask about the charge. (I have saved all e-mails and will be glad to share them.) I was told that in order for me to have been charged, I would have needed to have signed up by clicked "OK" and that I would then be enrolled in an ongoing program at a charge of $14.95/month, but that the first month was a free trial membership and I could cancel the membership at any time. While I did not sign up for membership, they sent me a message of cancellation of "my membership" but did not return the $14.95 that they removed from my credit card account. When I have followed up on this, I receive the same previous email. Since (1) I did not request this program, (2) the program is supposedly free for 30 days, (3) VIP Insider removed from my credit card account $14.95 seven days after my teeshirt order (which is well inside the 30 days free trial), I would like a refund of $14.95.

Same issue here, although I explicitly unchecked the box to sign up for the VIP Insider Rewards program during checkout when I purchased a jigsaw puzzle, and yet they still started charging my credit card $14.95 per month. I called today and waited a long time on hold, spoke with a rep who insisted I must have signed up (which I deny), and told I would be sent a "cancellation confirmation email". I then asked that if I was going to be sent a "cancellation confirmation email" should I have not also received a "subscription confirmation email" when I supposedly signed up? Hmmm. Total scam. Never going to order anything from What on Earth again. Good products, horrible business model.

I had the same exact problem I ordered something from what on earth in November and in December they just started charging me for VIP membership. I did not realize this until March. I canceled the membership that I never asked for and requested a refund from the company
