Wegmans Food Markets

On 11/19/19 I was eating lunch in Wegmans Cafe and a Loomis employee came in wearing his vest holding a bag and a soda cup. He went over to the soda machine and with 1 hand held the cup and in the other hand held his sandwich and pushed the button for the soda. His weapon was on his right hip and clearly visible. I talked to several staff at Wegmans about what I considered a very serious breach of safety. I was told they were collecting money. Wrong! He was getting lunch. I was told he is just like the police so one of my questions is: did he take an oath to protect and serve me or did he take an "oath" to protect Wegmans money. The front store manager, Tim, who was very professional suggested I contact HQ, which I did and spoke to Terri who told me my complaint is with Loomis and not Wegmans. Talk about passing the buck! I understand they come into a store to collect the money but he was collecting a sandwich and soda and both hands were away not protecting his gun. Wegmans is not the store I thought it was. The safety of their patrons is not a priority and I would think twice about that before going into their stores.
