I opted to participate in enrollment with voya financial offered as a rider.. additional coverage policy / program offered through my employer. Upon researching what they offer, to include conversations with voya representatives, I was informed that the hospital indemnity coverage along with the additional critical illness coverage would pay any covered dependant should they end up being admitted into a hospital at onset.. the first day of this admission would compensate $500 and should there be additional days confined that in one area.. ICU they'd pay out $200 per day should ICU be the situation, but if in a hospital room then this coverage would pay $100 per day being in the facility hospital room.. well my spouse ended up having to go to University of Pennsylvania Hospital for surgery.. He did have a previous diagnosis of Perhiperal Artery Disease for which he did have surgery some 4yrs prior.. however, he was well after the procedure.. we married 2 years later, he was fine and not having any problems.. then he ended up experiencing symptoms again with his veins/ leg circulation to where it was mandatory for him to have it surgically addressed. This time, however, due to previous treatment with surgery the procedure would now require a different operational procedure to where they would have to enter his body through his arm. and travel down to his groin for a stent implant.

Website: voyafinancial.com
Desired outcome: voya lied and later after the fact finally denied paying $500 for first day admittance into a hospital citing that covered patient was not there for their un disclosed required 20 hours to allow payment. This was not disclosed.
They denied payment and for an entire year have been paid premiums of a grand or more. They were extremely deceptive and even added upon my objection to denial that they will reach out to their marketing department to see that they now include the 20 hour minimum in their disclosures.. this is now being addressed after they hid this requirement.. they need to pay the $500 for the hospital stay first day.. while a covered dependant was released from the hospital approximately 8 hours or so later, this was not a disclosed exclusion for which they are claiming the right to deny paying claimant. WE now have a 2K deductible and Voya should be held responsible for non transparency and disclosure of this hidden excuse !
