Vivint Security Company review: Fine and shut them down.

On 11/22/2022 my mother-in-law called to discontinue service with the company. We obtained service with Vivint in 2011. The contract is under the name Gloria Nelson. Upon calling the company the employee on the first call insisted that she listened to his sales pitch in an attempt to keep her. She clearly stated that she did not want the service anymore. She was then passed to another company representative that told her that she had no choice but to listen to what they had to say. The company representative told her in order to cancel, she had to provide a letter in writing stating why she wanted to cancel. He also stated that too many people have been calling in to cancel therefor they now want it in writing. The company representative also told her that it would take at least 30 days to cancel. I then called and spoke with the company stating again that we did not need their services anymore and that I was not interested in any sales pitch. The representative stated that he would get fired if he did not give me the pitch. I asked for a supervisor and received the same information stating that I had to provide them with a written notice. I explained to them that I have cancelled alarm service before with major companies such as ADT and they didn't require a written notice.

I ended the call by sending an email to their supervisor providing him with name, address, code, and reasoning. During my phone call I spoke with Mason.
