ValueMyStuff Not competend

had an appraisal made of a wonderful Dogon ritual vessel that I inherited from a famous collection. The "experts" from...categorised it as a mass-produced item and valued it at $300. I got a new appraisal from AfricaMarket and the sculpture was valued at $1000-$2000.

I can only advise against these false estimates, you get ripped off and still have to pay £27 for it. Better go to Sotheby's, Christies or Catawiki.

ValueMyStuff Mixed Results with ValueMyStuff: A Review of Their Jewelry Valuation Services

I recently used ValueMyStuff to get a valuation on some jewelry that I had inherited from my grandmother. While the customer service staff was incredibly helpful, I did have some trouble with the valuations that were provided.

Even with previous valuations that were written up and signed by gemologists and certified jewelers, the valuations provided by ValueMyStuff were low. It seemed like they had just taken the information from those appraisals and put it back into the valuation, without taking into account the fact that time had passed and the value of the items would have gone up.

The initial numbers provided by ValueMyStuff also seemed pretty low, and the valuation did not break down the item value by stone. Previous appraisals had given the cut, clarity, color, etc. of the diamonds and other stones, but no monetary value of today's market based on those factors. Usually, I am given a per carat amount.

The valuation itself was quite long, with a great deal of legal jargon that mostly stated that ValueMyStuff couldn't be held responsible for anything. While I understand the need for legal protection, it did make me a bit wary of using the valuation for insurance purposes.

One other thing that I found a bit odd was that the valuations were reviewed by a gemologist or certified jeweler, but they did not sign the valuations. I think that may be a problem with the insurance company, not ValueMyStuff's insurance company, but another third party.

Despite these issues, I did find that ValueMyStuff had quite reasonable prices and their service was very fast, with valuations provided within 24-48 hours.

The customer service rep that I worked with was exceedingly helpful and full of information. She helped me adjust the insurance value and explained a lot about the rise and fall in prices, by stone and gold, etc. She was always available to answer my questions and was open and honest about everything I asked.

Overall, while I had some issues with the valuations provided by ValueMyStuff, I did find their customer service to be excellent and their prices to be reasonable. If you're looking for a quick and easy way to get a valuation on your items, ValueMyStuff may be worth checking out.

ValueMyStuff ValueMyStuff: A Thorough and Professional Valuation Service

I'ma glad I stumbled across ValueMyStuff. As someone who has inherited a lot of stuff over the years, I sometimes feel bogged down by all the possessions I have accumulated. It's like, how do I know what's worth keeping and what's not? But then I heard about ValueMyStuff and I decided to give it a try.

I have to admit, I was a little nervous at first. I mean, what if I sent them something and they just laughed at me? But the folks at ValueMyStuff were super friendly and professional right from the start. I sent them two family pieces, a cut glass pitcher and a 19th century painting, and I was absolutely blown away by the results.

First off, the turnaround time was really quick. I got my valuations back in just a few days, which was great because I was really curious about these pieces. And then, when I read the reports, I was so impressed by how thorough they were. The specialists at ValueMyStuff didn't just tell me what my items were worth, they actually gave me a lot of context and background information too.

I have to admit, some of the "facts" I thought I knew about these items were a little fanciful. But the experts at ValueMyStuff were really diplomatic in correcting my misconceptions. They gave me the real history and practical advice too. I feel like I really understand these pieces now, and I'm much more confident about making decisions for their future.

Honestly, I can't recommend ValueMyStuff highly enough. The entire experience was fast, polite, and thorough. Next time I find myself drowning in all my stuff, I'll definitely turn to them again.

ValueMyStuff Value My Stuff Review: Boosting Confidence in Vintage Jewelry Valuation

I just had my first go with Value My Stuff and I gotta say, I am stoked with the results! I got my hands on a solid grouping of vintage costume jewelry from an estate auction, but I wasn't totally sure that I valued them properly. Being that I resell vintage clothes and accessories, the last thing I wanted to do was jack up the price of these groovy jewels without first identifying them correctly. So I sent eight pieces over to the experts at Value My Stuff for assessment.

The online submission form was real straightforward - something that this Luddite can appreciate - and in less than two days I got my reports back. It was like Christmas morning unwrapping these virtual envelopes - boy, did I learn a lot! The appraisers were real generous with their info, breaking down everything I needed to know about each of my treasures. Only one of the items was valued at the price that I thought matched, but the rest were valued so much higher! Thanks to the informative reports, I feel like a real expert now, and I can price my new jewels with confidence.

I mean, if they only gave me this much knowledge, I would have felt that my coins were well spent, but I got way more than that! I know more about my fav section of pop culture than ever before and I am excited to see how my new knowledge will pay off in the long haul. I will definitely send more of my stash to Value My Stuff. I appreciate the great work they delivered!

ValueMyStuff Inconsistent Valuations: My Experience with ValueMyStuff Watch Appraisals

So, I gotta talk about ValueMyStuff. I asked them to value my Omega watch back in January 2020, and it was kinda weird, but it's all good. When I asked about it, the head of client service gave me a fancy response saying that the watch specialist who checked it has a good rep worldwide and that I can trust them. But like, do I really wanna take their opinion as gospel? Ya know?

So, just to see what's up, I sent the same watch to another "expert" they hired in February 2020. And get this - the difference in value between the two "experts" was six times! That's insane! I mean, shouldn't they use some kinda test appraisal to make sure all these "experts" are giving consistent valuations?

If you're a watch collector, you gotta ask yourself - what's the biggest difference you've seen between different experts valuing the same watch within a month? It's worth thinking about before you hand over your timepieces to these guys.

ValueMyStuff ValuemyStuff Review: Professional, Thorough & Affordable Online Appraisals with a Personal Touch

i tried out valuemyStuff and i gotta say, i was pretty impressed. been dealing with settling my mother's estate and i'd already given up on another online appraisal service, but VMS came through for me. so far they've appraised about a dozen items for me and each time has been professional, thorough, and informative. they even give you a certificate of appraisal for each one. what really stood out to me though was how kind the appraisers were when something wasn't worth much (which happened quite a bit unfortunately). they'd always make sure to emphasize the sentimental value and give nice comments to help make you feel better.

the online form for inputting info and pics was really user-friendly too. my favorite part was how i could add photos first and then switch back and forth between the images and narrative to fill everything in. the admin side of things was excellent - very clear and straightforward terms and billing. it's only $20 per appraisal too, which is a pretty good deal. if you prepay for a certain amount (5, 10, etc.) you get discounts too.

i read a few reviews online that weren't so positive and when i asked an admin about it (over email), they told me the company was sold recently and new management came in. i guess they've been making improvements and it shows. i don't have any complaints about VMS and would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs an online appraisal service.

ValueMyStuff Value My Stuff" - Professional and Reliable Appraisals for Your Family Treasures

Me, I'm a grandma from down in California. I was born there ya know, but now I'm moving on to other things and gotta downsize. And I ain't just downsizing, I'm giving away loads of family treasures. Like sterling silver, Chinese, African, and American Indian art pieces, original paintings, limited edition prints, antique furniture, both English, French and early American and all sorts of stuff. But I gotta know the value of my "STUFF" so I can make everything fair for my family and so I can sort out the insurance fees for when we ship it all. Plus, it's important that I know how much the stuff I keep is worth too so I can insure it and make sure everything's safe and sound.

I've already had 16 evaluations done out of the twenty I bought. And I plan to get ten more depending on what I unpack next. I gotta say, I was seriously surprised with how good the evaluations were. They explained it all in a way that made sense to me and they were based on auction values and second-hand sales and all that. Plus, when I had questions or anything, they answered super quickly and professionally. No messing around.

I've been talking to this lady called Ruth and she's been so nice, accommodating, caring, and exceedingly friendly and knowledgeable. She always encourages me to ask her questions and knows what she's talking about. I'm grateful for how she's treated me and the rest of the people at "Value My Stuff". And I'm happy to recommend them to anyone.

ValueMyStuff Disappointing Experience with ValueMyStuff: Inaccurate Appraisal of Vintage Chair

I just got a 48-hour service from ValueMyStuff for a vintage chair. It was affordable, but boy was I disappointed. The valuation I received was an absolute waste. The "appraiser" got a lot of things wrong.

First off, he called the style "bobbin turned." Umm, hello? It's "barley twist" style! Bobbin turning is not even close. It's like comparing apples to oranges. I made sure to note this in my description and it was clearly in the photos, but he still messed it up and called it "bobbin turned" multiple times.

To make things worse, he got the age wrong. He thought it was a replica of a 17th-century chair. That's a big mistake! It's an 18th-century design!

He mentioned that the wood used was probably lime or walnut. Let me tell you now, the wood has to be carved walnut. But lime? What was he thinking? Lime wood has never been used for furniture making and certainly not in Europe because, well, grown-ups know that lime trees don't grow there!

To sum it all up, the appraisal was a mess. There were so many mistakes, and the appraiser couldn't even identify the style. I was hoping for a good informed opinion, but it felt like the appraiser didn't know what they were talking about. No history was given and there was zero explanation to back up the appraiser's thoughts on it being a copy.

All in all, I wouldn't recommend ValueMyStuff to anyone. Sure, it's cheap, but the service was a waste of time and money. It was totally valueless and amateurish.

ValueMyStuff ValueMyStuff Review: An Uplifting and Personalized Experience from Experts Who Care

ValueMyStuff is the real deal! Let me tell you folks, they really know how to provide an experience that is complete and uplifting. I have to say, when it comes to a paid service, you have to have high expectations, hopes, aims, and requirements all met and the team at Value My Stuff really nail it!

I know that for items of potential value there is a higher charged spectrum of emotions for the company to navigate, but these guys really understand that. Behind every valuation is a personal story, and ValueMyStuff takes this into account. They understand that the value of expectation and necessity cannot be measured and they do their job of valuation with tunnel vision while still acknowledging the importance of personal attachments. They even use terms like "stuff" instead of "antiques" so that all areas are covered.

The company has a host of specialists with decades of experience. Even when the valuation is complete, they maintain a presence, and if you have any questions or anything remains elusive, they keep going with an unbiased and open mind to decode the hallmarks and ghosts of the past.

I have to say that Ruth, their meticulous representative manning the helm, has a knack for putting you in touch with vibrant and empathetic experts like Valerie. They are friendly, prompt, efficient, caring, and go above and beyond. Clearly, they aim to be honest, accurate, but also to acknowledge the individual behind the piece.

The website is easy to navigate and if you're only paying a small percentage of an item's worth, it has to be equally worth it. Even if the possession is not as precious as you thought, the knowledge you acquire, especially if you're selling on, prevents misrepresentation - and that's invaluable, am I right?

Listen, I rescue animals and run a nonprofit, and these guys have treated me like I'm important. That's where the gold lies. Ruth has helped me with any issue that naturally might crop up, such as confusion with "tech", and resolves it within minutes.

I highly recommend this company, folks. They are the real deal!

ValueMyStuff Accurate Appraisals and Great Customer Service: My Experience with Value My Stuff

I gotta tell you, Value My Stuff is the real deal. I've been using their appraisal services for about two years now and every time I get those Appraisal Certificates in my inbox, I'm blown away by what they uncover. I mean, these specialists know their stuff!

For instance, I had a hanging scroll painting that I wasn't quite sure about. I spent hours trying to identify the artist with no luck. But as soon as I sent in pictures to the Chinese Art specialist at Value My Stuff, they were able to identify the artist by the seals on the painting. That's incredible! There are so many seals out there that it's a wonder they could do it.

And get this - what I thought was a painting turned out to be a collotype print! I had no clue. But the specialist was able to tell just by looking at it. And they even provided a written history of the artist, which was really cool.

Now, don't get me wrong, I would've loved to hear that my hanging scroll was an antique, original watercolor painting worth a fortune. But honestly, I'm just happy to have an accurate Appraisal Certificate. I mean, what good is it to have a fancy painting if you don't even know what it is?

And I gotta give props to Ruth Warner, the Head of Client Services at Value My Stuff. She's the nicest manager I've ever dealt with in my life. Customer service doesn't seem to be a priority for a lot of businesses these days, but Ruth Warner is a shining example of how it should be done. I'm actually motivated to keep using Value My Stuff just because of how pleasant it is to deal with her.

So there you have it. Value My Stuff has accurate appraisals and great customer service. What more do you need?

ValueMyStuff Beware of ValueMyStuff: My Experience with Online Antique Appraisals

I've been sending in these old things that I've been collecting for a while to get them checked out for a good deal and I gotta say, this ValueMyStuff online business seems to be doing all right. Now, I ain't got no local contacts for antique appraisals and this site seems to be pretty reputable so I gave them a shot and I'm impressed.

Now, I ain't gonna lie, it ain't perfect. You gotta rely on your own pictures and history and take a bit of a risk with these online appraisers, but it's been doing alright for me for the past year or so. The initial appraisals were pretty good, matching up with what other dealers are saying.

But lemme tell ya, the Express service is a scam. Sure, you get an answer real quick, within 24 hours, but the valuation is shoddy. I barely get any history on the item, just a bit of general info that seems like it's just copy-pasted from a book they got. And let me tell you, they don't even change it up for different items from the same era. That's just lazy.

And don't even get me started on the regular 48 Hours service. It's been failing me more and more lately. I've gotten some pretty hostile valuations from these supposed "experts" who talk like they're not even adults. And half the time, they're rushing through it, making mistakes that are just plain embarrassing, like they're not even proofreading what they're writing.

I've gotten some valuations that are half-done, missing auction quotes and insurance recommendations and with barely any info on the item. They don't help you at all, just regurgitating stuff you can find on any eBay forum for free. The worst part is, some of the recent valuations I've gotten have been just plain wrong. Like, way off.

I mean, come on, they had a so-called "silver expert" pricing a solid sterling silver antique at only 20 bucks! That's ridiculous! And I've been getting some quotes for other items that are way off the mark, too, like 50 bucks or less when other auction houses are saying it's worth way more.

If you're an antique collector, watch out for these guys. They're not to be trusted. They're just trying to rip you off with false appraisals.

ValueMyStuff Disappointing Experience with ValueMyStuff vs. Excellent Service from Just Answer: A Comparison

I've used ValueMyStuff a few times over the last few years and I gotta say, lately their appraisals have been pretty disappointing to say the least. My daughter-in-law inherited a vintage oil painting from her grandparents that she wanted to sell or insure, so we paid for the 24-hour appraisal service. Only issue is that we didn't realize it was the weekend and 24 hours means business days, so we wasted a few extra dollars. Rookie mistake, I know.

We provided detailed photos and an unclear signature in hopes that the appraiser could recognize or research it further, but nope. The appraisal came back in two days and it was terrible. The appraiser didn't even note the impressionistic style or anything useful. Here's the expert's write-up that we received for our $30.00.

Title: "F. Leica [?]
Guarantee line
F. Leica [?]

Description
A matador
Oil on canvas
Indistinctly signed and dated 1969
36 x 24 ins

Date
1969

Height

Width
24inches

Extra Notes
This is the work of a modern commercial artist seemingly unrecorded.
I would be surprised to find any auction records for artists of the type.

The only useful part of this appraisal was added in "Extra Notes." The value given was $250 - $350 for auction value and $600 for insurance value. That's pretty disappointing considering we had to provide all the information ourselves.

On the other hand, Just Answer is another online service that responded in one hour and sent one-on-one messages for additional photos to assist them. We paid the same amount to get this information and value:

Fernando Cueto Amorsolo [protected])
Is a listed artist from the Philippines
Known for Philippine landscape, wartime scenes and portrait painting.
This matador painting was created by a Philippine artist that named F. Arcita of the Philippines
That was attempting to copy Amorsolo's style and his signature style. I will add photos so you can see what I mean. The signature is almost identical to Amorsolo's, except that it reads Arcita (with Phil under for Philippines). This artist is not a listed artist, but the painting is well-executed.

This painting has a current value of $2,000 to $3500 retail.
To sell, try ads on these sites; artbrokerage.com, askart.com, artnet.com, artvalue.com, or artprice.com.
You can also go to invaluable.com or liveauctioneers.com and search their directory for an auction house
Near you that deals in fine art and consign to them.
This price is retail value. Insurance on this painting would be a value of $8,000.

Those are way more details than what we got from ValueMyStuff. It's insane how much better Just Answer was for the same amount of money. Their appraisal was researched and presented in a way that made sense, and gave us a lot more information than just a mediocre estimate. If I were you, I'd pick Just Answer over ValueMyStuff every time.

ValueMyStuff Disappointing Film Poster Appraisal from ValueMyStuff.com

I recently tried out ValueMyStuff (valuemystuff.com) to get an appraisal on my poster. While the expert did try to be helpful, I was ultimately disappointed with the service. The expert only looked at previous eBay values and didn't actually appraise the condition of my poster. I was hoping for a rating like fine, very fine, or C rating, but I understand that it can be difficult to do so with just photos.

What really bothered me was that there was no attempt to describe the poster itself. It's a famous poster with artwork by Tom Beauvias, but the expert didn't provide any information beyond the fact that there are examples on eBay. The photos clearly showed small stains, mild fold wear, and linen backing, but these were not described in the appraisal.

The date given was also incorrect. The expert said it was from the mid-twentieth century, but it's actually from 1969. I was disappointed that I didn't get any new information that I couldn't find on eBay myself.

Overall, I feel like I wasted my money on this service. While I appreciate that they tried to help, I wouldn't recommend it for film poster evaluation. I think it's important to have an expert who can actually appraise the condition of the item and provide a detailed description.

ValueMyStuff Basic Appraisal Report with Spelling Errors - My Experience with ValueMyStuff

I was hoping for a more detailed appraisal, but it was very basic and didn't provide much information. I also noticed some spelling errors in the appraisal report, which made me question the credibility of the company.

Overall, I don't think I would use ValueMyStuff again. The lack of certification and detail in the appraisal reports, combined with the spelling errors, left me feeling unsure about the accuracy of their appraisals. I think it's important to have a certified appraiser look at your items, especially if they have significant value.

However, I will say that the customer service was responsive and helpful when I had an issue with receiving my appraisal. They were quick to respond and provided me with the information I needed.

In conclusion, while ValueMyStuff may be a convenient option for some, I personally would not recommend it for anyone looking for a detailed and certified appraisal. It's important to do your research and find a reputable appraiser to ensure the accuracy and value of your items.

ValueMyStuff ValueMyStuff Review: Convenient but Lacking in Detailed Appraisal Information

ValueMyStuff is a website that offers appraisals for various items, but I found it quite difficult to understand the values they provided. I had previously received appraisals for my items when I purchased them, and it seemed like ValueMyStuff was just repeating that information without providing any breakdown of the value of the stones. While it was nice to see the auction value range and insurable value, I wanted to know more about how they arrived at those numbers. For example, how much is the gold worth? What is the value of the stones based on their characteristics? Were there any damages or spots found in the ring, and how much would it cost to fix them?

Another issue I had with ValueMyStuff is that their appraisals are not signed. This made it difficult for me to provide the appraisal to my insurance company, as they would want to know who provided the appraisal and from where it was done. It would be helpful if ValueMyStuff could provide a signature or some sort of identification on their appraisals.

Overall, while ValueMyStuff provides a convenient way to get appraisals for your items, I would like to see more detailed information about how they arrived at their values and a way to identify who provided the appraisal.

ValueMyStuff Disappointing Experience with ValueMyStuff: Inaccurate Appraisal and Poor Customer Service

I recently used ValueMyStuff (valuemystuff.com) to appraise two antique objects that I own. Unfortunately, the so-called "expert" who appraised my items was not very knowledgeable about them at all. The time frame given for both objects was far too broad, spanning a whole 50 years! As an expert, I expected a more precise appraisal, with a time frame of no more than a decade. To make matters worse, one of the objects was even ascribed to the wrong century, with the expert stating it was from the 1900s instead of the 1800s. This greatly diminished the value of the set, by nearly a factor of 7!

To add insult to injury, the expert also gave their personal opinion on the style and desirability of the objects, stating that they were "less in style and asked for". However, I know for a fact that objects of this kind sell well on all kinds of internet auctions! I have tried to contact ValueMyStuff to rectify the situation, but have yet to receive a response. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received and feel embarrassed by the whole ordeal.

I am hoping that ValueMyStuff will take my concerns seriously and provide me with an accurate appraisal from a true expert on these objects. I also hope to be reimbursed for the trouble and inconvenience caused by this experience. It is frustrating to have to go through this process again, but I am determined to get a fair and accurate appraisal for my antique items.

ValueMyStuff ValueMyStuff Appraisal Review: Lacks Thoroughness and Accuracy

I recently tried out ValueMyStuff (valuemystuff.com) and let me tell you, I'm not impressed. The person who supposedly gave me an appraisal on my print clearly didn't put in much effort. I mean, all they did was a quick internet search to value it! That's not what I call an expert opinion.

You see, the signatures on my print are what truly give it value. And the fact that it's only available in the secondary market only adds to its worth. But did the appraiser take any of that into account? Of course not.

I'm definitely not going to waste my time on any other appraisals with ValueMyStuff. It's clear that they don't take a thorough approach when it comes to assessing the true value of your items.

To top it all off, I noticed some major errors in my appraisal certificate. The artist's birth and death dates were completely incorrect. As it turns out, he was born in 1961 and is still very much alive. I mean, come on. How can you trust an appraisal that can't even get basic facts straight?

Overall, I wouldn't recommend using ValueMyStuff for any serious appraisals. You're better off seeking out a true expert who knows what they're doing.

ValueMyStuff Disappointing experience with ValueMyStuff appraisal service

So I decided to give ValueMyStuff a try, and I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with the whole process. I paid my $20.00, which seemed like a great deal at first... but then they asked me a ton of questions about the artwork that I uploaded multiple photos of. I mean, come on guys! I already provided all that info! And to make matters worse, they proceeded to tell me what I already wrote down on the questionnaire. What's the point of that?

To top it off, they threw in some random info on a totally different artist that had nothing to do with my piece. Talk about irrelevant! I was left scratching my head wondering why they even bothered to include that.

When I wrote back to them asking for clarification, they asked for more information from me. Umm, excuse me but what exactly was I paying them for? I thought they were supposed to be the experts! But it seemed like they needed me to do all the work.

Honestly, it's not worth bothering with this company. Save yourself the trouble and do your own research or pay for a legit appraisal. Don't waste your time and money with these guys... I wouldn't be surprised if they're linked to Antiques Roadshow, which is another rip off.

ValueMyStuff ValueMyStuff.com Review: Total Scam! Don't Waste Your Time or Money

This website, ValueMyStuff (valuemystuff.com), is a total scam! I had hope that I'd receive a helpful appraisal for my beloved clarinet, but alas, that wasn't the case. After sending pictures, the original receipt, and all necessary information, I was shocked to see the appraisal results. They claimed that my item was worth between $2,000 and $3,000, even though I had paid a higher price of $2245 over a year ago. What in the world- were they trying to pull one over on me?! I was hoping for an actual appraisal, but they tried to link me to an auction. Seriously, do not waste your time or money like I did!

I read all the other reviews and not a single one of them was positive. As a matter of fact, they are all one star except two which seem to be fake! I tried calling and emailing them, but received no response at all.

A silver lining though, my credit card company was able to get my money back after I filed a scam complaint. Hooray!

ValueMyStuff ValueMyStuff Appraisals: Low Values and High Prices - A Warning

Man, this ValueMyStuff website is just not cutting it for me. I've used their appraisal services multiple times, and every single time they come back with the absolute lowest and most insulting values possible. I mean, come on! One time, I got this item appraised by them and they said it was only worth 50 bucks. But guess what? I ended up selling it for a whopping 4,600 smackers at an auction! Imagine how many other people they've ripped off by convincing them that their stuff isn't worth anything. It's just not right, man.

And now, to add insult to injury, they went and doubled their prices this year! What a bunch of greedy jerks. It's just ridiculous. I mean, why even bother with them when you can get a free valuation from the experts at Christie's, Sotherby, or Heritage? Those guys actually have real live trained buyers who know what they're talking about. Not just some robots behind a computer screen, like the people at ValueMyStuff.

Overall, I would definitely not recommend using this website. Stick with the big dogs in the auction game and you won't be disappointed. Don't waste your time or money with these jokers.

ValueMyStuff ValueMyStuff Review: Lightning-Fast Service, Inaccurate Valuations, and Disappointing Customer Service

Ok, so here's the deal. I used ValueMyStuff to value my precious jewelries. Let me tell you, the service was fast as lightning. I mean, I barely blinked my eyes and boom, the valuations were done. I was really impressed, not gonna lie.

But then, a few months later, when I tried to claim compensation for one of my stolen items from the insurance company, I was in for a nasty surprise. Turns out, the valuations given by these guys were way lower than the actual worth of my jewelries, like seriously lower. I was so mad, I could barely contain myself. What use is a valuation service if it's not accurate, right?

So, I called up the customer service of ValueMyStuff, hoping they would be able to help me out. But boy, was I wrong! They just shrugged me off, saying that their valuations were just an "indication" and not worth relying on. Can you believe it? I mean, their website clearly says that their valuations are good enough for insurance purposes, among other things. But now they're changing their tune and hiding it away in their T&Cs like a bunch of shady con artists.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone. Their valuations are about as accurate as a blind man throwing darts at a board. If you wanna avoid getting ripped off, just stay away from them.

ValueMyStuff Disappointing Expert Opinion on Fine Painting from ValueMyStuff

So, I decided to try out ValueMyStuff (valuemystuff.com) to get an expert opinion on a fine painting I inherited from my grandpa. However, I was not very impressed with the feedback provided by the site.

The comment I received was quite generic and did not answer any of my questions. I am not sure why they commented about water condensation damage. There is none on my painting! I was hoping to get more information about the artwork itself, such as the painting's age, the artist's name, any historical significance, and the method used to create it. Unfortunately, the review did not provide any of that.

I believe that if you're offering an expert opinion service, then you should be able to provide more detailed information. Instead, I was left confused and frustrated. It seems that they only looked at the painting's surface without considering its intricacies and historical value.

However, I must mention that they did provide some insight into how the painting may have been created. It appears that it may be reverse painted on glass. The review suggested that it would be difficult to determine without removing the backing, which they advised against.

Overall, I would say that ValueMyStuff didn't meet my expectations, but it was worth a try. I only wish they had gone into more detail and provided a clearer explanation. Nonetheless, I appreciate their effort in assessing my painting.

ValueMyStuff ValueMyStuff Review: Inaccurate Appraisal of Pre-Columbian Bowl

So, I sent this pre-columbian bowl to ValueMyStuff to evaluate how much she's worth. The bowl looked pretty normal to me, but I wanted to see if there was any hidden treasures. After a couple of days, I finally got a response back from them saying that my bowl was a 20th century reproduction. I felt some kinda way about it, like man, I really thought that bowl was the real deal.

I wanted to be sure that ValueMyStuff was right, so I took my bowl to this art history doctor that everyone knows, and he said that the bowl was actually 500~800 years old, just like I thought. I couldn't believe that ValueMyStuff got it wrong, so I told them about the report from the other appraiser. But get this, they didn't want to give me a refund and told me that the other appraiser was wrong! Can you believe that?!

I'm telling you, if you want to know how much something is worth, don't go to ValueMyStuff. They're just a bunch of dummies who don't know anything about real artifacts. Go find someone else who won't mess up like they did. There are better services for the same price.

ValueMyStuff ValueMyStuff Failed to Appraise Native American Artwork Accurately

Put simply, Valuemystuff totally didn't know what they were talking about and I wouldn't trust them to appraise anything of value if my life depended on it. I submitted a piece of artwork that clearly depicted 3 Native Americans, with two being Crow Indian chiefs named Pretty Eagle and Bear Claw, and one being the famed Gerinimo. On the back of the piece, there was a sticker from Thurber Fine Arts, located at 210 Wabin in Chicago. A quick Google search showed that this business was only located at that address from [protected]. But you can't trust the experts at Valuemystuff, because they dated the piece to the 1930s.

What's even worse is that the artist had kindly printed the names of the subjects and their locations right next to their portrait in the artwork itself. The "Expert" at Valuemystuff suggested that this piece had been possibly painted at St. Xavier University in Chicago. But a simple internet search revealed that St. Xavier was actually a TOWN located in the Crow Indian Reservation, and the chief was indeed a Crow.

In conclusion, don't waste your time or money on this so-called expert appraisal service. Heck, even a kindergartner could have done better than they did. So if you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy appraisal service, Valuemystuff definitely isn't it.

ValueMyStuff Beware of ValueMyStuff for Appraisals: Unprofessional and Lacking Experience

Listen here, y'all, I gotta get something off my chest. I don't like to be a whiner, but I gotta say something about ValueMyStuff (valuemystuff.com). I recently had them value this Jade piece from the 12th to 15th century that I own. I already knew the appraised value, cost, and history, but I just wanted to see what ValueMyStuff would say, you know, just to test them out. And boy oh boy, was I disappointed.

The valuation they gave me was nowhere near comparable to what I had received from a reputable dealer when I bought the piece. Plus, they completely lacked any kind of history on it. I mean, come on, isn't that half the point of getting something like this appraised? I've had other items reviewed by ValueMyStuff, and now I'm starting to question every single one of their valuations. What gives, people? Do they just not have enough experience to do proper appraisals or what?

Honestly, I cannot and will not recommend this service to anyone who wants an honest appraisal. Don't waste your time or your money, folks. There are better options out there that won't leave you scratching your head and wondering why you even bothered in the first place.

ValueMyStuff ValueMyStuff.com: Fast, but Flawed Appraisal Report for Mao's Quotations

So, I gotta tell you, I tried out ValueMyStuff.com and I got some pros and cons to share, ya know? I sent in a book in Uyghur language, Mao's Quotations, for appraisal and I did receive the valuation report within two days, which was pretty dang fast if you ask me. But, here's the catch, folks: the report had some mistakes. First of all, they got the publisher wrong! I mean, come on now, I sent in a pic of the colophon details that clearly show it was published by National Publishing House, not Foreign Languages Press. And secondly, the notes section was full of info that was irrelevant to me, such as details about Chinese editions or an auction of first editions in different languages that no one could find information on.

Now, I get that these report writers gotta hustle to keep up with all the appraisals they receive, but I woulda paid a bit more for a more accurate report with relevant info, maybe if they took like a week or ten days instead of 48 hours. I mean, that's just my opinion, ya know? But still, I see some real potential with these guys and I think they could be a big help for people who need to know the value of their stuff.
