ROBBED IN PARADISE! Valentina Mirabelli, Wife of Famed Attorney Enrico Mirabelli Charged with Fraud & Theft.

The Ex-Wife of Famous Chicago Divorce Attorney, Enrico J. Mirabelli has been Charged with Fraud and Theft in connection with a Robbery wherein more than $100, 000.00 in Cash, Jewelry, and property was stolen from a Million Dollar Luxury Condominium at the Peninsula Puerto Vallarta last month.
The incident began when Valentina Padilla Mirabella, using her maiden name of Valentina Padilla Becerra leased her luxury condo at the Peninsula in Puerto Vallarta to an unsuspecting Canadian Tourist for $2, 500.00 per month. Using the name Valentina Becerra she represented that the total rent for 3 months plus $2, 500.00 Security Deposit was required to be paid in advance and that it must be deposited directly to her personal bank account at Banamex in Peninsula Plaza. The Canadian completed the transaction as promised and was given the keys to the Condominium. These funds were then immediately transferred by Valentina Becerra to the account of Valentina Padilla Mirabelli and converted back into United States Currency and trasnferred to her account in the United States.
The unsuspecting Canadian Tourist thought he had found a great deal to rent this Luxury Furnished Million Dollar Apartment for only $2500.00 per month in the high season in Puerto Vallarta when comparable condos rented for more than $200.00 per night. This was almost "Too Good To Be True". Alas, the Canadian tourist moved into the condo with all of his possessions, jewelry, cameras, computers, credit cards and cash savings, to his dismay.
This is how the Scam was executed... Only two weeks into the rental the Canadian Tourist arrived at the Condo and was accosted by two men disguised as Security Personnel. These men denied the Tourist access to the property and brutally escorted the Tourist away from the condo and dumped him into the street. Because he had been to the beach all day the Tourist was wearing only beach attire and a pair of flip-flop sandals.. Now the Canadian Tourist was left homeless and without money or identification in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. You would think that his situation could not possibly get any worse... His Passport, Cash, and Identification were all inside the Peninsula Condominium. He was sunburned and had only enough Cash in his pockets for a day at the Beach and all of his other valuables were inside the Peninsula Condo...
Meanwhile, back at the Peninsula Vallarta, VALENTINA PADILLA and/or her co-conspirators searched the Apartment for valuables and Robbed the Canadian Tourist of all of his Cash and Belongings. Amoung the Property Stolen was a Diamond Bezel, Rolex President Watch, Two expensive Diamond Rings, $40, 000.00 in Cash and travellers checks, a Canon Digital Camera, a Sony Computer, various Gold Necklaces and Bracelets, Credit Cards, Personal Identification and a Canadian Passport.
Upon reporting the matter to local Police the Canadian Tourist's cries fell of deaf ears. Police promised to investigate but little or nothing was ever done. The Tourist finally went to his Embassy, the Canadian Consulate in Peninsula Plaza and was told that they are only here in Mexico in an advisory capacity. They told him that there was very little that they could do but provide information services and the most they could do was report the Canadian Passport as Stolen and issue new travel documents.
The Canadian Consulate did provide the Tourist with a photocopied list of local Mexican Attorneys and sent him on his way. Now with no place to go, no money, no identification, no passport and no place to stay the Canadian Tourist was depressed and distraught. After living several days on the streets of Mexico, finally the Tourist found a fellow Canadian with a big heart who gave him food and shelter and helped him to try to redress the harm that had come to him here in Mexico.
