this is called a "hold, " which happens at various gas stations and with various banks. The amount you didn't use should be returned to your account within a couple of business days. I've had it happen to me before as well...and it is definitely not convenient. Isn't Kwik Trip's fault or BP's (the place it happened to me, ) but I've been using cash or going inside to pay in advance at the register so it doesn't happen again. hope it all turned out well for you!
