I was ordering a special meal on Sunday evening, February 13, 2022, because my Mother (who lives a short distance away) was having her great grand-daughters at her home for dinner. They wanted chicken strips, fries, plus a side order and bread and sweet tea. I ordered exactly that for each 3 plus a chocolate cake desert. The total bill was $63.62 and I had to tip the Uber Eats driver additional for $20.00 because of waiting time to get the food.
Then the food arrived and it all went wrong:
1. ALL the food was cool temperature and the driver even commented that the food seemed cool when she retrieved it. I had placed a direct delivery on the food so that it would arrive heated and had to pay Uber Eats an additional $3 for the direct delivery to my Mom's home.
2. ALL fries were soggy, cool temp and overcooked.
3. ALL mashed potatoes were actually lumpy and hard (overcooked) and
refrigerator cold.
4. ALL chicken strips were tough, almost burnt all over the crust and yet cool.
5. I ordered 1/2 gallon sweet tea and received a large cup of sweet tea.
6. I ordered a piece of chocolate coca-cola cake and it was a tiny sliced piece. (Usually it is a large piece and easily shared with kids).
I might understand one item not being OK but ALL of this was wrong and definitely not worth $63.62 + $20.00 for delivery and waiting time plus express delivery to get the food delivered hot. It was NOT cold weather here in Houston, Texas / League City, Texas area on Sunday evening, February 13, so delivering the food in cold weather is not an excuse and certainly not an excuse for the burnt, tough and shorted food. And I tracked the driver on-line to make sure there were no stops on the delivery run.
My Mom threw all the food in the trash and they ordered pizza.
Desired outcome: I will accept a Cracker Barrel gift card for this amount and take the kiddos to the restaurant and try again. Thanks.
