I was offered a job and filled out all the paperwork and was supposed to start in 2 weeks, I suffered a torn tendon in my foot and had to rescind the job offer because I could not walk a warehouse floor. I received a letter from the unemployment office stating they were stopping my benefits because I had a job, I notified them and provided them with a letter from the employer that the job offer was take away and I never worked there due to the fact i could not walk a warehouse floor, and told them I had surgery on my foot. I also got a letter from my doctor the surgeon who stated she was treating me and that I was able to work in a office at a desk job, 5 days after the date of the surgery, All the jobs I was applying for were office jobs sitting behind a desk at a computer terminal. Then Ohio Unemployment ask that I pay them the money back that they paid me while I was on unemployment from the beginning which makes no sende. I was going out and can verify that I have had 5-6 in person interviews each week before surgery and also after surgery. The people at Unemployment office was too lazy to verify that I never took the job with the company and decided once they heard surgery they would stop all benefits. Tell me how is this helping people who lose their jobs, these people don't care about anyone, this has caused me to lose my home, my automobile and no money for any bills, I feel this is awful that they can just do this and all I am told when I call is they is looking into this and its been since middle of August that this happened. The people that make decisions like this that ruin peoples lives should be terminated. I have also requested this money be paid out and no answer, my doctor can say I can work but the Ohio Unemployment office knows more than a surgeon who did the surgery, this is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS.
Desired outcome: Still Waiting For answer I appealed
