Nielsen - TV ratings

My household has been taking part in the TV ratings for several months now. At first we thought it was going to be something fun to take part in because I am a stay at home wife due to some chronic health problems and this gives me something interesting to be part of. We have known other people who have done this and they had no issues.
We began to have issues shortly after with our main livingroom TV shortly after it was hooked up to the Nielson equipment. We have a 50 inch Hisense Roku smart TV. I would be watching hulu, and after watching a show, I would hit the back button, instead of taking be back to the show, it would take me to the home screen and totally kick me out of the app. Our volume settings are completely messed up on every app. Our picture settings are needing to be changed on every app. Netflix locks up/buffers/ or just kicks me out altogether. Sometimes my tv just restarts on it's own and recycles.
In the beginning, it was only doing this very infrequently, and I called our field technician and told him about the issues with hulu and Netflix. The technician came over and checked our tv's in our other rooms because it started doing it in there first... but we hardly ever use those rooms, so it wasn't a huge deal. I am the only one home all the time because my husband works out of state and is only home two to three days a week, so I am the main tv watcher and use the livingroom as the main point for watching tv. So, he determined there was nothing wrong with the equipment.

Last night, our livingroom tv, turned off in the middle of watching a show on netflix and when it turned back on again, it never fully restarted. It won't cycle past the startup screen with the company logo on it. And the screen just flashes on and off. There is no resetting the tv, we tried. The motherboard is fried. So now we have a completely useless tv.

This is not a complaint against our technician, himself. He has done a great job. We know he was just doing his job. This is about the company and what the equipment does to our electronics that we were not warned about that could happen before we joined the program. We were told there was no risk to our own personal electronics. Simply plug the Neilson stuff in and we wouldn't even know it was there.
When we went to move this broken TV and there were wires EVERYWHERE! Some even zip tied to our tv! Totally crazy to see how much was actually installed!

The little compensation the gave me for my time to watch tv was incentive to allow them to use my devices. If I had know it would break my equipment and cost me more in the long run, I would not have agreed to do this. I don't feel they were honest with me as to the risks to my devices when they hooked them up.

Desired outcome: Acknowledge that your equipment was responsible for the malfunction in my tv and why it broke and reimburse
