The Pep Boys - No heat in my car

On Jan. 24th, I brought my 2007 infinity in just to check the suspension because of a rumbling noise I heard. I received a call from the service center. “They didn't, find anything wrong with the suspensions, however they recommended a few services, out of the these services I choose to do a coolant flush for they said it was empty. So I ok the coolant service for engine is the car and have never and cannot stress any more “ I never had any mechanical or electronic problems. My car is in superb condition. Now from a suspension check, to a recommended coolant flush, to only one vent in my car working, to a leaking radiator, to a defective control unit; after dropping the car for them to fix the vent issue instead I end up paying for the control unit to be replaced, now I left with no heat, just warm cold air coming out, it get warm while I’m driving. And a motor noise coming from the dashboard. The worse part of it is , they are telling me that when I drop it off the I only have one vent working and the noise was there and but they never thought to mention it because that’s not what I coming in there for; but they did a full diagnosis on my car without my consent to any, but you noticed a noise and three vent not and you never feel it’s necessary to let me know, but you did a full diagnose; this whole and what they telling don’t make a lick sense; so if you can intervene on this matter i would appreciate it. Thanks,

Desired outcome: I would like for the heating in my car to be fix and the noise to go away.

The Pep Boys - New noises following replacement of major gaskets and power steering pump

My car had a slight humming noise from the hood on the passenger side, so I too it to Pepboys for service. You determined an oil leak was the problem you replaced the power steering pump, the valve cover gasket, and the intake manifold gasket. I no longer see oil on my driveway or hear the initial humming noise. I drove the car for a few minutes but had to return it immediately because there was whining noise from the power steering and a rattling noise coming from under the dashboard. Pepboys told me that this was normal and that the noises would go away. I drove the car for 4 weeks (to build mileage because I am working from home) but only the power steering whining noise went away.

Now the car makes a knocking sound when I start it, followed by the same intermittent rattle when driven over rough payment and when in Park. The mechanic went for a drive with me on May 25, 2021, and he agreed that the noises were not normal. I went there today, June 1, to pick up the car; Pepboys has had it since May 25, 2021. The knocking sound when the ignition is turned on is still audible, and the rattling sound is still there. Mechanics on the internet explain that noises mentioned above can come from replacing power steering pumps and gaskets if the parts are not installed correctly or if parts on the car that were disassembled were not reinstalled correctly. As you can see from the attached invoice, major work was done on my car requiring necessary disassembling of parts. I have been patient through out this month-long process but need to resolve this issue so I am able to use my car.

Thank you.

Jon Dunbar-Cooper

Desired outcome: Find the origin of the knocking and rattling and stop these new noises.
