I was a part time employee at the Panera Bread located at 200 Hancock Street in Quincy Massachusetts. I am a college student and go to school in Boston, and I got a job at the Panera Bread closest to my school because I needed the money and I thought working with this company would be amazing.
During my time working there, I was barely trained on how to do everything. The manager Stephanie Layou expected me to know how to do each job when she or the other employees do not take at least 2 minutes to show me how to do something. She would then get frustrated at me for not doing the job I was assigned correctly.
After about 3 months of working there, I had to go home for winter break and I already told Stephanie a month in advance. She then told me that it was no problem and to remind her two weeks in advance, which I did. She said that it was no problem at all and confirmed it. Stephanie told me to let her know when I was coming back to school, so I did just that.
But when I did, she stated "Hey girl, I do apologize with the decrease in sales. It has been difficult with our unfortunately right now I just don't have the sales to support labor. Currently I will let you know if and when more hours become available", so I left it at that. I then try to log in to my Panera Bread employee account and see that my account was for some reason deleted. So I then logged into my ADP account and it said that I was terminated.
There was no explanation from Stephanie or any other manager. She just terminated me like that, did not call me into the store to talk to me or called me over the phone.
Desired outcome: I was terminated illegally and I request that Stephanie be terminated from Panera Bread.
