Meijer - meijer, terre haute in

On 07/20/2019 the following complaint was sent to Meijer Customer Care with no response at all, this is the 2nd issue I had (the first included expired items on shelves and other issues): 07/20/2019: I really do hate to be sending another email but yet I am. I was at the meat counter today at about 4 pm. Waited again several minutes as a young man was working nearby. He finally asked if I needed something. I told him I needed one of the roasts from inside the case. He went and retrieved a young lady who got the roast. I asked her what the price of NY Strip was and she said she didn't know. So we walked around and she found some that was already cut into steaks and found that it was $8.99. I told her that I would like to buy a whole strip. She said that I could not do that because there was nobody working the meat department. I told her that I did not want to have it cut, I just wanted the whole strip. She said that there was a few steaks cut right in front of me. I told her that I would like to purchase the whole strip because I cut my own steaks much thicker than what was available. I asked her to please check it the back for a whole strip as usually in the past it always had to be obtained from the back. She said she could not do that because she was dyslexic. She said she had a learning disability and could not do math in her head. I stated that all she would need to do is read and find a slab of meat that read "NY Strip or Strip". She stated that she would have no idea where to find that. So I asked her if there was someone else that could. She stated that there was not and that they do not have a "meat person" but one would be trained soon. I again asked her if she could maybe find someone that could read the writing on meat. She said that nobody in the store could do that because the meat man leaves at 1 pm and that they would have no idea where to even start because they were not "meat people" and they would have no way to know what they were looking for. This was nearly verbatim as to how the conversation went. So she ended with saying maybe I could try another time. And this is another week that we were unable to spend at least $100 on a piece of meat at Meijer, not to mention the several hundred dollars we had of items in the cart. I know that this is a waste of time writing this and I am beginning to think that Meijer could care less. Or maybe I am over estimating what I should expect from Meijer. Since there's an actual meat counter present I thought that I should able to purchase something other that pre packaged items. If I wanted only packaged items I could've went to Walmart. So in the future I will shop at Kroger, Baesler's or Sams Club since they have a meat coulter and actually have people present to work the meat counter. A couple of weeks ago I was unable to purchase ribeye or strip because you were out, I couldn't purchase wine because it was still expired on the shelves as it was five days prior to that shopping trip. It has become obvious that I am wasting my time visiting the store as much as I am reaching out to let someone know that things are not right. I did not receive a message from the store manager after the last experiences but did find two missed calls on one day. I did not know who they were from but found that after googling the number it was from Meijer. A message would have been an easier way to know that at least some tried. However that was two call attempts on one day and no message at all. This was really not an attempt to fix the issues, it was a manager or someone that was told to call in an attempt to feign concern that my issue mattered. So I will copy this email and send it on up the chain along with my last one but this time I will not re visit Meijer.
