On Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at about 6:50 p.m. at the Valvoline location in Glen Carbon, Illinois, I had an oil change in my Honda CRV.
The oil change itself went very quickly — in under 10 minutes.
However, the customer service was not at all what I am accustomed to at this location.
When I arrived, the store was completely empty. There were no employees in the store and none outside the store. Within a few second, though, someone ran up to the store from a back parking lot and waved me into the bay.
Once inside the bay, he asked what service I was there for, and I said an oil change. Another employee had arrived by that time. From behind the raised hood, I heard him ask the employee at the POS monitor if I really needed an oil change.
During the oil change, no one confirmed that the oil filter was changed, no one showed me the air filter, and no one asked if I wanted the cabin filter changed.
The first employee did ask about the tire pressure, but I saw no one actually check the tires.
No one checked the turn signals or the headlights.
I was not shown the dipstick to confirm the oil level at the end of the service.
I question whether there as a manager on site and if the manager was paying attention to the employees. This is substandard service.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate an acknowledgement that the service was less than it should have been.
Also, the washer fluid level was not checked and the fluid was not refilled.
