PetSmart - Fish department

Unfortunately, Petsmart is the closest pet store to me still being an hour and a half away or I would have changed pet stores by now. But I felt the need to let someone know from your company so that maybe something can be done about it. First off, when you try to get anything in the Fish area/department there is usually no one there. You have to wait, get someone's attention, and then wait some more. Now for the last 6 months or maybe even more there has been an ick issue with nearly all the fish in half of their aquariums. And I'm speaking of only ick here and not all the other diseases they have. They say they are medicating them. But it's been 6 months! And there is of course new batches of fish. Since it is the only store I can go to, I still purchase fish from here taking home only the ones with no visible signs of disease hoping mine won't end up with ick even though they are all sharing the same water while at the pet store.. And of course, after a few days at home, the fish I bought do get ick and I have to medicate them and only half survive. If that! I'm too far away to ever get my money back for them or it's been too long to get my money back because I was trying to save their lives with expensive medications. But even before the ick, there was still poor fish quality. Yesterday, I bought an angelfish that didn't have any signs of ick. He was the only one left. So I thought. As soon as she lifted an item up that was in the aquarium several dead angelfish floated out of it. There were several dead fish in almost all the tanks. Including the beta fish in the front. Several were dead in their cups and one was dead that they put into a small aquarium they were showing off. What is wrong here! If they can't keep them alive how are we suppose to? And whenever I ask for something it's usually never there. For instance, I have Bearded Dragons and when I use to ask for crickets for them they would only have some half the time that eventually turned into never having them. I have asked for aquarium shrimp several times. Every time I am informed they were out. And when the lady working there looked for some shrimp for me, picking an item up in the aquarium, gunk went everywhere. It was clear that these aquariums were not being cleaned as much as they are supposed to. I have been going to Petsmart for 10 years using three different stores in Bakersfield Ca. Mainly the one in on Oswell st. That is the one I am referring to right now. And it has only declined over the years. Even the persons taking care of the fish doesn't matter who it is, has little knowledge of what they are doing, and can't even put air into a bag without it all coming out by the time I get home. referring to one certain lady who in particular who swears she has been there for years and years. :-/ The other day I wanted to buy some bettas. I was wanting females to start a female set up. And there were certain females a lot less than others. They all pretty much looked the same until I took a real good look at all the ones that were marked down and I noticed that every single one had a very bloated/swollen abdomen. Not a good sign! While the ones marked higher did not. It looks to me that they were purposely selling sick fish and just weren't going to mention it to anyone. Being in the fish trade I know that if I would have bought those females, most, if not all, would have died within a week or two at the most. PetSmart needs to get their act together! And you need to hire people with proper training as well. I am getting sick of this sloppy store.
