On 10/4/2020 at approximately 5:55am I attempted to make a purchase at the store located at 2775 S 51st Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85043. I approached the counter and was attended by a QT employee. I placed my item on the counter. After entering information in the register, the employee verbally asked for the total amount for the item. I handed the gentleman cash. In return he then proceeded to only give me the coins back in the amount owed and not the dollar bills. When I asked for the price of the item, he stated in a condescending manner.. "Oh I guess you want your dollar bills too". The attendendent then proceeded to give me the exact amount owed to me. I did not receive an apology for the mistake. Therefore I feel that the act was intentional. A few seconds later I politely asked for the employee's first and last name. He stated that his first name was Chris, last name Brian. I feel very offended that this employee attempted to insult my intelligence by deliberately short - changing me at the counter. As a non-white person its only logical to feel that the act could have been racially motivated. I am very concerned about patronizing particular this store in the future. I recommend a full investigation, an official apology from the employee and the QT Corporate Office in response to the actions indicated above. Also I strongly suggest some type of disciplinary action towards the employee to discourage this type of unprofessional behavior in the future.
