Trying to request my Clinical Summaries thru Patient Portal. I received message that stated,' Summary can't be found'. Tried calling the office no answer. No one respond to the voice message I left. By contacting the primary physician in writing I received a return Phone call.
In my letter I requested my Clinical Summaries for November 03, 2023, and November 09, 2024, to be mailed to me. An employee from the clinic informed me it's against HIPAA rules to send medical records to my home. The only way I could receive my medical records was by Fax or come into the office.
Under HIPAA, patients have a right to access their medical records. When mailing the records providers should use privacy protection.
