They state they do not disscrimiate against those with disabilities. However, in their selection requirements you must have a stable two year work history among other things. . I had a 20 year stable work history prior to my becomming sick which lead to my diability beginning December 2014 and I waited 4 long hard years to get my diability. I lost my home I had paid for due to my water being off for 1 week because I could no longer work The city condemned it and took it from me. In the selection process hardships factors are a big in determinating who gets chosen.I meet all them with flying colors.I do not know anyone nor have I heard of anyone that has been thru more than my family and I have over 5 years. Much of their selection processes are geared in one direction it seems. They are geared toward families that work and maintain a steady job over a period of years but, still have to live live in poor rental conditions and overcrowding and pay more than 30% percent of their income out to "rent!"That is a realky narrow margin. It leaves out those who worked hard and were buying and lost their jobs losing their homes and many more serious issues even like mine for instance. Those fact criterias should be atop every application as a requirement instead of the bull they advertise and put adjacent to the application. Because as far as all the printed requirements I meet all those and the hardship criteria and the application requirements within their time constraints.I got my hopes all up for nothing. And my family and I, we have been thru some hell and practically homeless had it not been for family opening their doirs. But, even with that we lived overcrowded and many other things I wont mention but, at one point for 3 years we were pretty much enslaved and overworked and living substandard and poor conditions and was forced to endured much mental and emotional abuse, we were also prisoners "we were trapoed there and could not leave 3 years straight because we had no way out, We could not afford to get a place on our own at todays current rental rates with utilities and all down payments. And that is where we were when we applied for their help and if thats not good enough along with the fact that I am disabled I dont know what is!
