Chevrolet - rear hatch glass

I have a 2001 Tahoe LS that is in show condition. Six months ago I noticed the right side back hatch window raised in that corner. Upon further inspection, I found that the hinge had came loose from the actual window section that it supports. I found this amazing in the fact that it has only been opened once since we purchased the vehicle. Odd as it may seem, we always open the hatch for entry or adding any items such as groceries, luggage, etc. When I began further inspection I found that the riveted portions of the hinge had actually pulled themselves loose from their intended purpose. Again, realizing that this window had only been opened once since we purchased it.
While searching the internet for replacement numbers and pricing, I noticed numerous websites focusing on just such an issue as this. The further I read and again I quote "NUMEROUS" websites, I was astounded at the number of Chevrolet customers that had ventured into the same problem that had now inflicted my Chevy Tahoe. How can this not be added to a recall list. It surely passes all the qualifications that I have seen on numerous defective items throughout my 45 years of customer service to the public.
Absolutely no usage, no owner neglect, hundreds and hundreds of identical complaints,
How can General Motors allow this to fall on deaf ears? Can you just turn your back and not be concerned that hundreds maybe thousands may be left with a manufacturing defect and decide to never purchase a GM product again? It amazes me that this may very well be the case and that my high regards for the management at GM for the inventive ideals that show in your products year in and year out by proving themselves many times over. I can or at least would have attested to this just by the fact that I drive a Tahoe that has proven itself. Not one breakdown. No repairs other than normal maintenance and customer care.

Now by providing this vehicle with the minimal requirements and upkeep it requires, it produces through no fault of its own, a quantified, numerously documented, and highly expensive manufacturing defect to the loyal customers of General Motors vehicles.
I want to thank you for our partnership since being a young hot rod lad to this present day of modifying and upgrading my sons Silverado to car show condition. I can no further be involved with a company that turns their back on the loyal customers that helped to build your organization. As I search for a new company to become part of and the desire to own vehicles made in America it seems ironic that I might become associated with the company that I made fun of the most.
