Hello,
I used to be a local newspaper reporter/columnist & a human rights activist in my home country.
As a resident of Alexandria, Egypt, my appointment was scheduled to be on April 18th, 2022 at exactly 10:00 AM. I had to leave home as early as 6:00 AM because my appointment would be in Cairo, not in Alexandria where I live. Unfortunately, there was heavy traffic that day and I was unable to make it at that time. Upon arrival, they took my appointment paper in and then asked me why was I late. I told the security officer that I am all the way from Alexandria but the traffic was heavy. I am 100% sure that the security officer had sympathized with me however, I wish the person in charge of my appointment can at least slightly be humane to those who came from a distance. All they did was offered me an email, asking me to send my complaints there.
I felt bad, coming all the way from Alexandria to Cairo, only to realize that I wasted my time, 6 to 6 for nothing. Once again, I wish the US Embassy would be a bit more understanding.
