I went to the website of the company United Address Change. I thought that it was legitimate website, and I filled the form and indicated my address and card number. They supposed to charge me for $2.99, but after that I checked the account and it turned out that they took $45.99 from me. So I wanted to warn other people that this website is scam. Be careful and check it. Also post your comments and ideas how to close this rubbish website.

I was on the USPS site on Monday, September 22, and clicked on a link which may have had USPS and other companies offering address change services -- I can't remember. In any case, I ended up on the United Address Change page, and assumed that the $39.95 was the minimum that the P.O. charged for the address change service, or what they let their approved service supplier charge. I paid it, then backed up, and a dialogue box appeared, saying that I could get the address change for $8.95. I thought that this box cancelled the previous transaction, so I clicked on it, and of course now I have two charges on my credit card, $39.95 and $8.95. I called United Address Change, and they said they could remove the $8.95 charge and would refund $35 of the first charge; the remainder was the minimum that the P.O. required for what I wanted. So I called the post office and found out that they charge nothing for an address change, and called United Address Change back again. They assured me that all the charges would be cancelled. Well, they're on my card Wednesday, September 24. I am disputing the charges, and we'll see what happens. The company sends no e-mail of the transaction, and you have no record of it on their site. Shoddy, close to a scam, even if they stay within the law.
