I am a resident of one of your new acquired managed properties in Tualatin Oregon. I have resided at my apartment for over 6 years.
I have a garage rental and recently I locked my garage key in it by accident.
I requested for a copy of the key on file so that I could access the garage so that I may get my original key and belongings.
There was no problem. I woke up to a duplicate key at my door step and thought nothing of it.
I was not notified of any charges associated with this transaction until when rent was due, and I was pretty much forced to pay $50.00 for a "New Lock/Installation".
The original key works on the garage door. The key I recieved is the same key as the original one. I took the key to a locksmith and they told me that both keys are identical. The locksmith also said that the key is a copy and that the manufacturer of the garage type lock is sold with 4 extra keys and that as as a property management company this would be a "Key on File".
So the maintenance and property manager could not have replaced the lock. Not only that but there is so much damage to the garage door from the outside from previous owners or whatever that it is a moot point.
Desired outcome: I just want my $50.00 back or some honesty because if in fact you replaced my garage door lock and my original key works on it then that is a security issue
