I was solicited to sign up for TRU ENERGY to be my energy provider. They informed me that I will get a lower cost. I signed up on the phone. The first two bills were less. I was thrilled so I did not check my next four months bills assuming I was still making the savings. Then I decided to check again and noticed I was being charged 81% higher. It is fraud!
All any consumer wants from their electricity supplier is reliable service at a fair price. It is outrageous that companies like Tru Energy appear to be misrepresenting their rates as based on the market when they are in fact much higher. This practice of overcharging for electricity appears to be a blatant violation of consumer protection laws, and we are actively investigating energy companies concerning this conduct.
