"Jim Green" wasted a hour of my life, could have been longer if I had not walked out of the room. I submitted my application via CareerBuilder, received a phone call...set up an appt, thinking that they were going to be able to INTERVIEW ME! This was a "SEMINAR" by a arrogant, rude & sexist "ENTREPRENEUR" He asked "all the pretty ladies to sit in the front!" IT WASN'T FUNNY.
Do not go to these SEMINARS...fronted as a interview.

They must be doing something right. I almost canceled my appointment but then I thought, I don't know who posts anonymously to sites like this. They have an "A" rating with the BBB. It seems that people here just complain that they are a business. Uh, duh? I met with a lady there who was really helpful. She gave me almost an hour of her time, for free. Then she met with me again for a couple of hours to explain my options, for free. I waited and tried to search on my own for about another month now. But I am going back and asking for their help.

I too cancelled based on this information. It is unfortunate that there are such companies that prey on individuals. What is even more interesting is the basis that they continue to remain in business. Someone must be buying this...

I love the internet. It provides helpful information to people that could be victims of scams. I received a call from the Wellington Group to set up an interview for Friday. I had asked what type of agency and she really could not response to my questions. I went ahead and set up the appointiment and l had the opportunity to review the website and this forum before going. Thank you so much. I canceled my appointment.

Thanks to all for confirming what I suspected when the call came in this afternoon. When I looked through their job board this afternoon, three pages were postings for National Guard jobs... WHAT? Go figure. To all who are looking for new positions... network, network, network... and stay positive. Best Regards to all.

Jim Green is not the problem... The guy running the business "Nick D'uva" is a scam artist. He goes by Nick but he was convicted in the state of California for scamming people under the name Jack Nicholes D'Uva. Check it out:

This place is a joke, my experience has been the same as the above stated. A ploy to extract money from those trying to find jobs. Capatilism at its worst.

I want to comment on ‘Not Real For You’ complaint about the Wellington Group. I completely agree with this post as I had an ‘appointment’ today, Tuesday, November 9, 2010 and our stories are similar.
I met with one of Wellington Group’s partners, Mr. Paul Ghasemi for what I thought was a legitimate job opportunity; however, it turned out to be a 'marketing scheme' (that’s the most professional word that I could think of) that required a retainer fee of, according to Mr. Ghasemi after repeatedly asking about the fees, “One-to-three thousand dollars and another one-to-three thousand dollars on the back in once a job is secured.”
Mr. Ghasemi had a huge vocabulary that even my MBA had a hard time following. I finally told him that I am a direct person and that what he was saying did not make sense to me and I consider myself an intelligent person. After ~30 minutes, he finally somewhat simplified his ‘marketing scheme’ and told me that every day that I am unemployed, I am losing my worth so whether it be my unemployment, a recruiter (Mr. Ghasemi said that these firms get 30% up front and a potential hiring organization takes that percentage from my salary) or them (i.e., the Wellington Group), I am going to be paying somebody either way. I told Mr. Ghasemi that I will take my chances and look for jobs myself because I feel as though I am very marketable. He went on to say that if I am using the internet solely that I will have a hard time because the internet accounts for only about 9% of the jobs. He then asked me where I think the other percentages come from — firms like them — he answered freely. He continued talking vaguely about the website they set up for people and the success that they get without using the internet.
I cannot say conceretly that this company is a scam, but I lean in that direction because I think that the Wellington Group should be frank (upfront) with the public on their website, on the various Internet Job Boards, and when a person calls the company inquiring about various jobs—I did all of these and should have followed my first heart when I looked at the website and noticed that the information was limited. Furthermore, when I called to ask about the specific job that I applied for, the receptionist could not tell me. When I asked the receptionist more questions, she said that I should talk to Mr. Ghasemi and he will explain in depth about their firm and what services are offered.
Anyway, I hope this helps anyone who is concerning meeting with this organization. Please note that if you do set up an appointment, it IS NOT an interview (even though they ask you to bring a copy of your resume) and be sure to expect to pay at least one-to-two thousand dollars for them to get started helping you. In addidtion, you must have another equal amount - a huge lump sum of money -if the Wellington Group lands you a job.

Thanks, but…..um….no thanks Wellington Group! I rather be unemployed.

I am a previous client of theirs, and they are no where near what you make them out to be. All of the partners are very helpful, and I was able to find a position that suited my career, and raised my income. Maybe next time you receive a call about an appointment, you should get your facts first and not assume it's an interview.
