The Original 718 Sewer & Drain review: plumbing - deceptive practice, theft

I used this company for a minor plumbing issue, replacing a shower diverter, for which they overcharged, including a shady a $5 "gasoline fee." They wouldn't provide a cost estimate upfront, but rather pull the age old trick of "well, it depends, maybe we have to replace the whole system for a thousand dollars, etc." Upon leaving an unsatisfactory review on them, I started to receive messages from the owner aggressively venting at me. 2 months later the part they had fixed popped out. I called them back and asked them to come fix the work. The visiting plumber said the part that he installed broke, and that I would have to pay for the job all over again. He also said another part, a spring, had fallen off. Without much knowledge of plumbing, I don't believe a properly installed part should only last 2 months. By his measure, I would have to be replacing this part every 2 months at the cost of $250 each time. So he left. I took the part to the plumbing store nearby. Store employees told me nothing was broken, the part had come out and needed to be put back in. Except the part consisted of 2 pieces, and the plumber who visited had actually stolen one of the pieces when he visited. I had to buy a replacement. When eventually the issue was fixed, we discovered that the spring had not fallen anywhere, it was right there - he had lied about this as well. So all in, he lied about the part being broken and in need of replacement at full service cost, stole a piece of it and lied about a spring falling off.
