Study.com Study.com: A Valuable Resource for Classroom and Online Learning

Study.com is a really good website. I use it in my classroom to teach mostly Social Studies and Science. My online ESL students also really like it. They can pick almost any subject and I can find a lesson, passage and sometimes a video to help them learn about it. The quizzes are a really good feature that helps me see how much they understand. It's really good quality!

Study.com Misleading Advertising and Unexpected Charges: My Experience with Study.com

I wanted to find a way to learn some new things during the summer before I go back to college in 2023. I found Study.com and decided to try their free trial. However, I ended up getting charged $252.00 without realizing it. I was really upset because I thought I was signing up for a free trial, but it turned out to be a misleading ad.

I immediately canceled my subscription and requested a refund, but I haven't heard anything back yet. I hope they will refund my money soon.

Overall, I think Study.com has a lot of potential to be a great resource for learning. However, their advertising needs to be more clear and transparent. It's important for people to know what they're signing up for and how much it will cost.

I would recommend being cautious when signing up for Study.com and making sure you understand the terms and conditions before giving them your payment information.

Study.com Study.com Review: Risk-Free Trial and Easy Cancellation Promise Falls Short

I recently tried out Study.com and was initially attracted to the website's promise of a "risk-free" trial with no obligations. I created an account and took two practice tests, which seemed like a good way to get a feel for the platform. However, I was a bit put off by the fact that the site asked for payment information during the account setup process. The form indicated that my payment information would be saved so that I could easily continue my membership after the free trial ended, but I was still a bit wary.

After a few hours of exploring the site, I ultimately decided that it wasn't the right fit for me and attempted to cancel my account. This is where things started to go wrong. Despite the website's promise of easy cancellation in "just a few clicks," I found the process to be confusing and frustrating. I eventually managed to cancel my account, but not before I noticed that Study.com had already charged me $76 for a one-month subscription.

Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed by this turn of events. I felt like I had been misled by the website's promises of a risk-free trial and easy cancellation. While I can't speak to the quality of the content on Study.com (since I didn't end up using it), I can say that my experience with the website's billing and cancellation processes left a bad taste in my mouth.

Overall, I would caution anyone considering a subscription to Study.com to be very careful when entering payment information and to read the fine print carefully. While the site may offer some valuable resources, the billing and cancellation processes are far from user-friendly.

Study.com Unfair Treatment and Low Pay: My Experience Working for Study.com

I gotta say, my experience with Study.com was not the best. I used to work for them as a contract worker, and let me tell you, the pay was not great. But I stuck with it because the hours were convenient for me. However, one day I got an email from them saying that I had overcharged them. I asked for proof, but they never got back to me. Instead, they terminated my contract and took away 10 hours of pay. Can you believe that? I was counting on that money to support my family, and they just took it away without any warning. It's just not right. They never even told me that I was overcharging them before. It's like they were just waiting for an excuse to cheat me out of my hard-earned money.

Study.com Navigating Online Education: A Review of Study.com and Choosing Reputable Universities

When you're looking for programs to further your education, it can be overwhelming to see that the Top 10 schools are all online, for-profit "universities". It's important to understand what that means before making a decision. These schools often charge more than a traditional, reputable 4-year university and may not provide a degree that holds the same weight in the job market. In fact, it's highly unlikely that you can complete a Doctoral degree entirely online.

That being said, Study.com is a website that offers information on various areas of study. While some of the information may be basic and lacking in detail, it can still be a helpful resource for those looking to explore different fields. However, it's important to note that this website should not be the sole source of information when it comes to choosing a school or program.

It's always best to do your own research and seek out reputable universities, both online and in-person. Meeting with a career advisor or utilizing professional websites, such as the American Psychological Association for those interested in psychology, can also be helpful in making informed decisions about your education and career path.

In conclusion, while Study.com may have some useful information, it should not be relied upon as the sole source of information when it comes to choosing a school or program. It's important to do your own research and seek out reputable universities and resources to ensure that you're making the best decision for your future.

Study.com Study.com Review: Misleading Advertisements and Limitations on Basic Plan

I stumbled upon Study.com while looking for an online history class to teach my homeschooled child. The website seemed promising, and I was immediately greeted with online support to help me sign up. The sales pitch was impressive, and I was told about all the features that this program had to offer. The advertisement indicated a free 30-day trial, but it turned out to be a 30-day money-back guarantee. Unfortunately, we were billed immediately, which was a bit of a letdown.

Despite this, my husband and I were intrigued by the many interesting classes that Study.com had to offer. However, we quickly discovered that there were limits with the basic plan. The one feature I really wanted, which was taking the course quizzes and final exam, was not allowed without upgrading from the basic course to a more expensive plan. The mid-range subscription of $60/month that we pay for our child was not available to us. When I emailed and asked about how adults could access the entire program, I was told that we needed to upgrade. We ended up cancelling our subscription immediately.

Having access to the quizzes and final exam is NOT the same as getting college credit. The cost of taking proctored exams has an additional fee of $70 per class with a limit of 2 classes per month. While they advertise that you can take as many classes for college credit as you want, you will only be allowed to earn credit for 2 classes at a time at an additional fee. That is a sure way to keep the monthly fees going. Plus, there is no guarantee that the colleges or universities will accept these credits. We only wanted to study for personal enrichment but not at the cost of $400 a month.

As far as the 30-day money-back guarantee is concerned, we have NOT been notified that we will be getting a refund, only that our account is pending cancellation and will remain available to reactivate until November 21. I will need to call them Monday and request a refund since that does not seem to be automatic.

It is my impression that the immediate assistance I received to get signed up is not the ongoing support that is available to subscribers, and that the information that was advertised and told to me was in fact, misleading. Overall, I would caution anyone considering Study.com to read the fine print and be aware of the limitations and additional fees before signing up.
