My husband. a Navy Veteran was insured by me at Anthem/Blue Cross, but he also went to VA for checkups. VA says they are NOT an insurance, & simply provide benefits to veterans. St Rose Hospital in Las Vegas refuses to honor my husband's Anthem insurance which provides greater choices of Skilled Nursing for him & transferred him prematurely, w/o informing us, to a facility (1)that does not have adequate side rails - which is critical for my husband who at St Rose Hospital was labeled as "high risk for falls", (2)and which does not allow restraints - which is critical for my husband who has dementia. Facility staff found my husband fallen on the floor at the foot of his bed at 6:30am yesterday with his bile drain unplugged, requiring him to be rushed to St Rose ER for painful reinstalling of his tube. Yesterday afternoon after surgery they planned to return him insensitively to that facility but our family objected. He was bruised from the fall on his right and left side.
At St Rose hospital after surgery my husband dreamed he was in our garage cutting up cardboard, tossing his blankets & his tubes. Yet St Rose doesnt care about his welfare and wants to return him to the facility despite all the risks.
My son talked to the facility who said my husband was a mismatch for their facility.
Country of complaint: United States
Desired outcome: I want St Rose to honor my husband's Anthem/Blue Cross insurance and find a more appropriate Skilled Nursing care for him based on what Anthem can pay. not on what VA ( a non-insurance) can pay.
