I bought a Tshirt for 32.40 in cash that was too small (a gift for husband)I went back within 5 days of purchase to xchange. Salesman said that spencers didn't have different size, but keep trying after 3 tries w- no luck, I just wanted my $ back. The manager said no returns-store credit after 30 days! The policy was in the size of a postage stamp on bottom right side of register. OK, you would think I would have been at least warned on my 3rd visit! Consumers Beware of this sneaky overpriced store!

I agree, I have worked at Spencers Gifts, seasonal, and was forced to push sales on customers even if it appeared they did not want it. It was very annoying to do because I know what its like walking in a store just wanting to browse but being annoyingly badgered by strangers. But my manager was badgering me and she is a middle aged woman and I was intimidated by her, she was also watching me.
My husband went into spencers at northwoods mall in charleston to pick me up some nose studs. He got the wrong type and i went to simply exchange them only to be stopped bya manager stating if i dont have my reciept they cant tell if i got it for half price or not... WTF DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THESE PRODUCTS BEING EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE?. She was veeeery rude and snappy and for being a customer there for 8 years iwas highly disappointed and may never return.
Spencer's gift store return scam, get the CASH without having a return policy ! They do not offer cash refunds period, if you buy anything at Spencer's Gift make sure to have a Visa or MasterCard (no depit cards) that way they are FORCED by the credit card to offer a refund for any unsatisfied customer. It is sad that this once good company has resulted in theft to keep the customers funds, but that's it simple and quick.. I can guarantee you that I will never buy another item from this store and urge people to stand up for your rights as a customer and ban this company!

Spencers Gifts is not the same. They have become very pushy almost short of forcing you to buy products you don't want. I was shopping in a Spencers as was told I HAVE to buy a Playboy blanket because it was a contest item and they had to sell l them or they would be fired. I declined and was not able to shop in peace .I was approached numerous times by the sales asscociates as well as management and badgered about these blankets. After that experience I have not been back. Hot Topic carries most of the same items spencers does and I suggest you shop there. Hot Topic asscociates are friendly and allow you space to shop.
My daughter was with a friend in feb 08 and her friend stole a necklace and was caught, my daughter didn't even know she had it until mall security caught them together. The manager said she was barred for life and by mistake she walked in last night with her boy-friend and even before the manager could ask her to leave my daughter walked out and went to do other things..the manager had her tracked down by mall security and had her arrested for criminal trespassing..My daughter is 13th in her class..with a 4.04 gpa..works and plays tennis. The manager went way beyond being a manager and just being a jerk. The store is located at the sikes center mall in wichita falls texas, and if anyone actually reads these things that store should never be visited.
