Have you learned you have unclaimed money held at the South Carolina Treasurer's Office?

State Treasurer, Curtis Loftis, Jr. and his minions are the most asinine group of MISFITS I have ever experienced!

In October 2022, I filed a petition with the Richland County Probate Court to collect unclaimed funds from my mother's estate, held by the South Carolina Treasurer's Office (State Treasurer). My sister, who was not privy to my claim, is a co-claimant.

After the Probate Court approved my claim and issued an Order directing the State Treasurer to disburse the funds to both my sister and me.

I proceeded to submit a claim and copy of my driver's license to the State Treasurer, who requested a copy of my mother's death certificate and my sister's driver's license. I informed the State Treasurer that I don't have custody and control of my sister's driver's license and that I was filing my own separate claim.

After denying my claim, I obtained an amended Order from the court directing disbursement of my share of the funds.

The State Treasurer's website now indicates that, "we have received your claim, and are reviewing your information. We will contact you if we require additional information." I continue to await an end to the State Treasurer's IDIOCY!🤕🤡

Desired outcome: Disbursement of my approved funds.
