This used to be a good service. But obviously it has been sold to some off shore company. Very difficult to speak to a living person, and when you do it is very difficult to understand them. A very heavy accent. All other contact is by Artificial Intelligence / AI. We have been customers since the 1970s. Originally we had 7 appliances covered. Over the years 3 of them have failed. Sears Home Services Master Protection Plan replaced 1. When the furnace went out we couldn’t get anyone to come for days so we had to pay out of pocket for the repair. Otherwise our pipes would have frozen. When I complained I was told I should have said it was an emergency. No option was given to do so when I contacted them. Besides, isn’t 2 senior citizens freezing to death considered an emergency? Then same thing when our water heater died. Days went by with no hot water, so once again we paid out of pocket for a covered appliance. Now we are in the second month of trying to get a technician out for the annual service check. In the early days, when there was still a SEARS store, the technician would come on one day and check all 7 appliances. Now we get 4 different techs. and 4 different days. And now we are told we will be billed $90.00 per each visit. Everyday we get numerous email and texts telling us to reschedule our service visit as there are not enough technicians to cover the work load. DO NOT BUY THIS SERVICE!
Recommendation: Avoid Sears Master Agreement at all costs.
