Oct 2022 I signed a contract with Scryptor to rebrand two books (Heather & Avery and the Bicycle Shop and Heather & Avery and the Magic Kite) for a "Service Fee" of $2,200. The contract states "The author will be entitled to a full refund of the total fee if Scriptor House will not generate book sales within 3-6 months’ time after the rebranding." I have received nothing. No word of book sales, etc.

These books did not get re-published until about Feb 2023 as they were poorly edited and needed to be told what the problem was. They did a very poor job. It has been a year and I have not heard of any sales and received no reply to my emails and no answer to my phone calls.

Country of complaint: United States

Desired outcome: They stick to the contract and refund my money as there have been no sales.

I have a signed contract for two books and the refund I would receive. To state something like this now is strange as I submitted this one year ago and to Scriptor House, not some lame complaint board that would do nothing.

Of the two books you quoted, only "Heather & Avery and the Magic Kite" is published by Scriptor House. I'm not sure how the conversation went but guaranteeing a sale means forcing a buyer to buy the book. Surely you can't expect that. You may want to try talk to them again and see if they can have your book featured for free in every marketing campaign they have to try generate some exposure.
