A last minute ticket was purchased via priceline. From seattle washington to :. We added insurance because it was the smart and safe thing to do, for and extra $35. I went over the policy online and saw that it cover flight cancellation, no shows, etc. Figured it was safe. While all of this was in the process, I was still trying to get the info out to her...

Xcover.com Travel Insurance Travel insurance claim

Difficult to work with - "TRIP INTERRUPTION" - Did NOT FIT Their Narrow Definition for reimbursement
TL/DR

1. No Phone number to call to discuss if you would like to give non-obvious information to clarify your claim.

2. Read their "TRIP INTERRUPTIONS" conditions carefully, not obvious what is is covered.

1. Although the online submission is convenient, there’s no obvious phone number to call to discuss the subtle aspects of a claim.

- A final decision on their end took weeks to get back to us. We were never formally told that our claim was denied. Only after many emails did they get back to us citing their policy.

2. Read the “TRIP INTERRUPTIONS“ carefully. This does not always cover the airline rescheduling or canceling your flight on last minute notice.

Trip interruptions according to xcover.com cover: mechanical failures, strikes, inclement weather >12 hours but not airline flight time changes

- In our case it to not cover the airline moving up our connecting flight earlier. We could not connect to that flight and had to scramble last minute to purchase more expensive one way tickets to our final destination. We were to subsequently able to arrive at final destination several hours later (and had earlier family plans which were interrupted).

- xcover.com did not cover the inconvenience and our “interruption“ as it to not meet their narrow definition. I’m sure other travel insurance policies cover our situation, but in this case Xcover.com does not.

Read carefully.

(Also, would not work with online booking site which offers Xcover.com as a travel insurance).
