We just had the worst experience with Veterans United. This has been extremely stressful and has disrupted our entire family. We have been working with Veterans United on purchasing a home. We found a home and placed a contract. We spoke to our loan officer several times and he assured us everything would be transparent. We were 21 days from closing on our...

Going through the process of buying a home loan currently. I was due to close on Aug 14th. Now I, a first-time home buyer who is frankly not very savvy about such things, was EXCITED when I saw Veterans United was putting a team on my loan. Veterans United Home Loans Home purchase closing process

Sellers beware of offers from buyers using Veterans United Home Loans. The Veterans United Home Loan rep, Tanner Smith, handling our buyers loan was either incompetent or only interested in getting the money. He failed to communicate with both the sellers' and buyers' agents throughout the process. He mislead both the buyer and seller on the status of the many steps in the process. He promised a closing date he knew he could not meet. He failed to do his own due diligence and 5 days prior to closing told the buyer their insurance wasn't valid preventing the loan from moving forward in underwriting. He obviously failed to fully explain the requirements to the buyer as they almost lost approval of the loan 2 days before closing because the buyer didn't meet another one of the lenders requirements. His lack of qualifications, or just lack of concern for his customers, cost the sellers additional fees when failing to meet the closing date he promised and put multiple families through a very stressful ordeal, along with the strong possibility of losing the homes they were in the process of purchasing contingent on his clients loan closing. I am deeply saddened that an organization would treat our nations veterans this way.
