Going through the process of buying a home loan currently. I was due to close on Aug 14th.

Now I, a first-time home buyer who is frankly not very savvy about such things, was EXCITED when I saw Veterans United was putting a team on my loan. Surely these people will tell me the things I need to know and warn me of any impending hazards!

Fast forward through two months of hell. So many things they didn't bother to make me aware of. Let's skip them. Today, August 11th, the guy in charge of my loan tells me they're going to have to push my close date back. "The funds aren't in your account yet."

Uh... no. Of course they're not? You spent the last month telling me the close date was August 14th. Why would I think anything other than that the funds needed to be there August 14th?!

So now I have to pay for extra inspections. I have to pay for extra pet boarding. I have to lose my mind for four extra days (while in the middle of planning a wedding and starting a new job). Because these "professionals" seem to think their clients can read their minds.

Home buying is hard, because people like Veterans United make it hard. I'm excited to spend the rest of my life letting people know to never, ever, ever, consider using them.

Desired outcome: Train staff to educate buyers on pitfalls, and tell them important things like "the funds need to be in your account BEFORE the close date". I think you guys should reimburse me for extra legal costs, inspection costs, pet boarding, etc.
