Install/Warraty Service
Waterproofing my basement by Thrifty Waterproofing did not elimate the water coming into my basement. I have tried to contact this company but have not been able to reach anyone to talk to. I have a lifetime warranty on the workmanship, but it appears this company no longer is in business. The salesman who contracted the work between the Thrifty Waterproofing and myself does not return my phone inquiries.

shady company
We received the coupons in the mail from Money Mailer and Valpak, as well as we're pretty sure on tv too. We contacted them and they came in and talked us into signing right away.. Then I started feeling very uneasy about it since I could not find any real reviews of them and just the ones they said were 'past employees' and were making it up, blah blah. I also checked with BBB and it STILL shows no rating. Everything seemed shady. They also mentioned that all of their employees were salaried, but the guys who showed up looked like they were picked up from the corner in Paterson. They showed up without the permits, and tried talking me into working without them that the town has the paperwork and knows, yet when I called the town, it would have been a $2000 fine. I told them to come back when they have the permit, then I called and left a message for them to call me back. I spoke to the owner, Peter, and told him I do not feel comfortable and he said since I didnt have a good feeling he would refund all of my money, no fees, but said 'well, we did have to pay for the permits so I'm out that money' and I had already confirmed that the permits were still not picked up and paid for at the Borough Hall. He also said he refunded my credit card, I have yet to see it on my CC bill and this was back in April! My CC company is taking action. Completely shady company, nothing but lies!
Deceptive
I received both a Money Mailer & Valpak coupon in the mail from Thrifty. Both pieces stated they have an "A" rating with the BBB. I spoke with the BBB & the fact of the matter is that they have no rating with the BBB & their accreditation was revoked. This is due to the ongoing investigation from the BBB that the owner of Thrifty is the same owner of Aqua Dri Waterproofing who has 46 complaints with the BBB. I don't understand how the BBB is letting them get away with this! BEWARE!
It's becoming well known that Thrifty & Aqua Dri are the same company.
This Al Demola guy is a conman, He has a company called traqm.com, he ripping consumers at this scam.

I agree. I used to work there! THEY ARE THE SAME COMPANY!
bait & switch
WATCH OUT...THIS COMPANY IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED, , , BEFORE THEY WERE THRIFTY, THEY WERE AQUA-DRI. DON'T BELIEVE IT...JUST GO TO NJ STAR LEDGER WEB SITE & TYPE AQUA-DRI.. READ BOTH ARTICLES..DO YOUR HOMEWORK.HERE IS A LITTLE HELP... AL DEMOLA IS THE OWNER OF AQUA DRI. ALTHOUGH THE BUSINESS IS REGISTERED IN HIS STEP-FATHER IN-LAWS NAME ...RICH ABRUSELMAN, AFTER EARNING 38 COMPLAINTS WITH THE BBB IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS, HE IS NOW USING THRIFTY WATERPROOFING REGESTERED IN HIS WIFES NAME KIM COSTA.HIS SALESMEN ARE EITHER FAILED WATERPROOFING COMPANY OWNERS OR SALESMEN CAST ASIDE BY OTHER COMPANIES. IF YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK YOU WILL FIND THIS IS ALL TRUE. DOUBT THE LINK BETWEEN THE TWO COMPANIES ? GO TO FACEBOOK & SEARCH FOR THRIFTY, HE LINKS THE TWO TOGETHER HIMSELF. NOT THE BRIGHTEST GUY, BUT CUNNING ENOUGH TO RIP LOTS OF PEOPLE OFF. ONE MORE THING ...NO ONE PLAYS THE VICTUM BETTER THAN THESE GUYS..IF YOUR READING THIS NOW IT PROBABLY MEANS THAT ONE OF THOSE GUYS ARE IN YOUR HOME RIGHT NOW. DON'T LET THEM DO TO YOU WHAT THEY DID TO MY FRIEND...GOOD LUCK!

This Al is a conman, He has a new company thats failing and ripping off consumers, Called Traqm.com
I used to work for AL DEMOLA. AQUA AND THRIFTY is the same COMPANY. WORSE COMPANY OUT THERE. DONT LET HIM FOOL YOU. EVerything that was written above is true. I quit because he owes employees money and myself.
If you want a trustworthy company I would look elsewhere. I should have seen this right from the sales pitch. They try to hard sell it and put pressure on you to buy right at that point otherwise you wouldn’t be able to get the “discount”. They also pressure you into signing an emergency permit and sign away your right to cancel the contract when it is not necessary. The salesmen also lied about his credentials saying he was in charge of all the crews which were complete BS. This was just the beginning of the character and trustworthiness of the people that run Thrifty Waterproofing.
First a crew was set to start work on Monday and when they did not show up I called the office wondering where the crew was that we secured on Friday to start work on the “emergency permit”. When they called me back he was annoyed that we called and was hostile and rushed me off of the phone. After a couple of phone calls that went to 10 pm that night he finally committed to having a crew there the following day. They did show up the following day to start work which they completed within two days. When the work was completed I was surprised to see plastic along all of the walls that comes up out of the ground five inches on the wall. The salesmen said nothing would be visible because they break the wall below ground, but clearly that was not the case. I asked the crew about it and he gave me some song and dance about how he had to break the wall higher than normal thus the need for the plastic to run up so high to guide the water into the system. The cement was not applied evenly so now I have an uneven floor. When they came back to put everything back my utility sink no longer fits where it did before and they also took out my window screens and did not replace them.
After the work was completed I tried calling the office to talk to a supervisor about these issues and they keep telling me that someone would call me back and to date no one has called me back. Once the checked cleared they were gone unwilling to answer my questions or work to resolve my issues. If you want a company that lies about the work, and unwilling to provide any customer service after the work is complete than I would say go with thrifty but if you want an honest company that cares about their customers than I would say look elsewhere.
I recently did work with thrifty waterproofing several months ago, and have zero compliaments. My basement is dry, their workers were extremely friendly and i got the job done for a reasonable price. I agree I would have no problem recommending this company.
Thrifty did a great basement waterproofing job in my basement. They finsished in one day, sealed for dust, moved furniture and threw away ripped down sheetrock and wood. Would definatey recommend them.
