Thom McAn men's dress shoes reviews and complaints

I got a pair of shoes from Kmart and not even for weeks later I have to return them because the sole did not have glue on it I think, so I got another pair and same thing happen two weeks later, when I got the first pair I also got dress shoes from the same company and last week that we have rain was when I noticed that the bottom was all tear and water was getting inside, so I went back to Kmart and because I did not have the receipt they did not refund me the money, whey they keep selling this garbage? and why consumer agencies dont do anything about it?

I purchased a pair of Thom McAn men's dress shoes at K-Mart some years ago. Sometime back the left shoe started activating the shoplifter alarm when exiting most stores. It took considerable trouble and EMBARRASSMENT to even track it down to the shoes, but it was. I got to the point I'd go to Home Depot and they would put their checkout paddle to the shoe and you would hear the "tunk" sound when an item is "deactivated" at a register, and it would be OK for a while before starting in again. I gave up a few weeks ago and began looking for a new pair but to no avail so far. Now it's activating every week. Tonight I gave up and dug a metal security strip 5" long out of the bottom of my otherwise perfectly good shoe. Can't even complain to Thom McAn; It only exists today as a brand owned and manufactured by obscure others and reportedly only sold by K-Mart and Wal-Mart. Do yourself a longterm favor, unless you like being the focus of the wrong kind of attention, DON'T BUY THOM MCAN SHOES!
