On 20th June 2022, I went to Spore by Ferry from Batam to Harbour Front. I have very pleasant experience the month before when I arrived in Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, where the immigration officer was very nice and smiley face. I thought after 2 years of Covid lock down, finally the officer become nicer and better. To my surprise, I have one of the worst...

Singapore Immigration bad attitude of officer

my bad experience from custom on 15/01/19. The officer from counter 18 (duty on 15/01/19 6am) has bad attitude plus low efficiency in work. As compare to the next counter, he works slower (when he clear 1 car, the next counter have already cleared 7 cars). The worst thing is his bad attitude towards non-Singaporean. When checking the passport, he didn't called for every passenger's name as what usually other officer will do. He showed us his [censored] face like we owe him and also shout at us " foreign worker! Foreign worker!' which really make me feel insulting! Your attitude is like a price tag. It shows how valuable you are!

Singapore Immigration immigration officer

I just arrived in singapore and i just received a bad welcome from the singapore immigration officer.First of all, i admit my mistake yeah it was my mistake that i did not see 2 collumn that must be filled in in the immigration form and i did not fill that 2 collumn. However that is not acceptable for immigration officer with class like Singapore insulting tourist from another country. He insult that we did not have eye and we did not qualify to understand english. Well its a common mistake as a human sometimes we make errors and he insult 2 old people which is my parents.I often visit singapore but this is just ruin my first day in Singapore. I just hope in the future they can change their attitude, become more friendly and patient to all the tourist.I know not all the officer have attitude like that.

Singapore Immigration singapore immigration officer

I am a Malaysian who is holding Singapore work permit. I am really sad and disappointed to the Singapore custom officer that I have met this morning at Woodlands Checkpoints (04 Dec 2017, time 6:45am-7:10am). I have never encountered such a nasty custom officer before and it spoilt my mood in the early morning. Firstly, I was waiting in a queue at counter and will using my passport and work permit to enter Singapore.
When my turn, it's met the time of immigration officer change shifts. The previous immigration officer shut down computer and starts to leave. The take over immigration officer busy requested candy from the previous immigration officer and kept saying she very sleepy. I wait quietly in front of the counter even the immigration officer made the candy more important than ON her computer. Today queue not so long, so I wait patiently.in between the time waiting her computer ON, the immigration officer keep asking the male immigration officer that counter just beside her counter, whether want her candy or not? The male immigration officer said NO, but she asked again and laugh and she enjoy be fun at counter.
After I passed my passport and work permit to her, I put my thumbprint on the screen machine. After 2 minutes, the male immigration officer asked her if work permit cannot scan is that confirm not valid? And she answered that: "may be the work permit was expired". After get the answer, the male immigration officer continues his duty and start talking with the girl that he assist. But the immigration officer that assists me was looking to the male immigration officer, she smile and immovable. She looks like forgot she was assist me because she start busy looking to the male immigration officer and smile alone. So, I tried to remind her and I said softly: "excuse me?" She shocked and look like been waking up by me from her dream, she was so angry and she said: "You cannot wait ah?!". She was so fierce and I only can keep quiet. It was my choice to go to work today even I'm just recover from fever and I still flu and cough and I'm in period. She doesn't want open the exit gate for me after passed me the passport and my work permit. She opens the gate for the person queue behind me, and start assists him. She smiles happily that what she did on me. After finish assist the next person, she shout out to me: "Go fast la! Why you blocked here! You want faster right?!? I looked to her and I saw her name" Nur Elaina". Well, this is the way she treat a weak and sick people like me.
Needless to say, I am very dissatisfied with the level of service and rudeness shown by immigration officers. What I say is true and can be tracked by the CCTV around 6:45am to 7:10am to prove that I am telling the truth. The working attitude of immigration officer needs serious attention. And I seriously feel that the relevant party must take an action towards that nasty custom officer.
P/s: I'm Malaysian that works hard in Singapore; I didn't do any bad things in your country. Photo taking and video shooting was not allowed at Checkpoint, if allowed you will see a lot of rude Singapore immigration officer shouting and scold Malaysian at Checkpoint. We just work at Singapore; don't treat us like a dog! Of course I know it's might not useful for me to write in because I understand meaning of: Evil people are bad the world over" and "All bureaucrats shield each other"; but I just want do want I should do and I believe in Karma. Thank you.

Singapore Immigration accusations

My wife and daughter decided to go on a 4 day holiday to Singapore while I was working away in Abu Dhabi. After having a fantastic time of seeing all the sights, it was now time to fly back home. When they got to the airport, this is where their nightmare started. My daughter went through immigration with no problem but my wife got datained. She was accused of travelling on false documents. She had her phone and other personal belongings confiscated and was locked in a room. She was not allowed to make a phone call. I had a call from my daughter who was in tears telling me that Mom had been arrested by immigration and she no longer had contact with her. My daughter had been advised to travel on alone which she did. My wife then faced 8 hours of interrogation during which time she missed her flight. She was accused of having a false passport and every time she tried to speak she was shouted at. I have to add that Passports are almost impossible to fake as they all have an electronic chip so a false passport would be easily detected. It is a total mystery why these fabricated charges happened. They told my wife that she will be free to go but first they escorted her to the ticket desk where she had to buy another air ticket for the last flight of that day. After she purchased the ticket, they escorted her back and locked her in the holding cell for another one and a half hours while they processed release papers. She then left Singapore on that last flight. My wife and daughter have both been left very traumatised by this experience and feel reluctant do do any more travelling. I have since looked on the internet about Singapore immigration staff and the list of complaints against them is endless. It is my opinion that the Singapore immigration officers are doing severe damage to Singapore's tourist industry. Because of these crazy accusations, my wife missed her flight and then had to purchase another ticket. Surely it should have been the responsibility of the immigration officers to pay for this as it was their fault she missed her flight. I have emailed Singapore immigration and discussed this with their Deputy Commander Ground Ops Colin Tan [protected]@ica.gov.sg who has said that he needs my understanding about this but the questions he has not answered are as follows: 1 Why was my wife arrested on the way out of Singapore? 2 What on earth made you think her passport was fake? 3 Why was her embassy not informed? 4 Why was she not allowed to make a phone call? 5 Why did she have to pay for another flight when that was your responsibility? We never intend to go back to Singapore and we strongly advise all tourists to stay away. Thank you for taking the time to read Brett Wilson

Singapore Immigration bad attitude

I am really angry at the Singapore custom officer I have met this morning. I have never encountered such a nasty custom officer before and it spoilt my mood in the early morning. And I seriously feel that the relevant party must take an action towards that nasty custom officer.

I drove to S'pore thru causeway at about 8am today( the 1st counter in middle lane, I cannot remember the exact counter number, is either 9 or 11) . My driving skill may not good enough to keep the car near to the counter, while a bit longer distance make me accidentally drop my passport on the custom counter when I handed over to the custom officer. He seem very unhappy, asked my IC numbers twice and I did answer properly eventhough I was not sure why he wanna to ask for two times. When he finished update my info, he purposely throws my passport on the counter. It is really unbelievable and I was totally shocked whenever I saw his reaction. When I wind up my window, I heard he scolded me while I was not sure what word/language he scolded. Since I am rush to work hence didn't stop and argu with him. And I think he really spoilt the image of S'pore.

Frankly speaking, I personnally feel the working attitude and efficiency of S[pore immigration become worse and worsen nowadays. You will notice a lot of custom officers seem work in a SUPER SLOW WORK PACE environment. Their reaction is slow, attitude is bad, and some of them always gather in a corner and do nothing.

I hope this matter is seriously paid attention to.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m Indian citizen who work in Indonesia from last years. Today morning (06/02/11) at 11.30 am I have a across a bad experience with the immigration officer(CI 2 KALSOM BTE BAKECHIL for CONTROLLER OF IMMIGRATION SINGAPORE) in Tanah Merah F.T. check point. I have got 2 years multiple entry visa from SINGAPORE HIGH COMMISSIONER IN NEW DELHI on dated 22-Jun-2010. But today above said officer didn't allow me to enter the Singapore with out showing proper cause. Even she didn't talk me nicely and also didn't tel me the cause. It's a great psychic abuse and harassment for a visitor. I write this just to tell that’s because of some bad attitudes is enough to spoil Singapore image.
Thanking you

Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m Malaysian citizen who work in Singapore almost 10 years. Today morning (12/01/01) I have a across a bad experience with the immigration officer in tuas check point. I write this just to tell that’s because of some bad attitudes is enough to spoil Singapore image.

I drove to S'pore thru tuas checkpoint at about 6.45am today morning. When I reach the counter I pass the passport to the officer(shamala Gowri) and remove my helmet. Suddenly the immigration officer asking me why you look at me? She repeat same question almost three time then I reply her do u want to identify my face or do you want I turn over my face to other side. Then she like not happy and said to me you all understand or not aiyo at the loud volume in tamil. The name of office is Shamala Gowri. This kind of attitude can spoil the image of people in Singapore. I don’t think she work at market but she was working for Singapore immigration.

In Singapore i have been many government offices but so far never seen people like her. Please advice those people because they lack of moral.

I am very agree with that. I found almost 95% Singapore immigration officer attitude very bad.
An example on 30 October 2010. I went to Malaysia do medical check up at johor bahru and direct went to Singapore by bus. I am planning wanna shopping there since i had a long time never go to Singapore.

After I reached Singapore immigration around noon the officer already give me very unfriendly face after that worse, she throw my passport on the counter and then give me the form to fill because i am not Singaporean.
The way she throw my passport just like i owe her a lot money! I am very Angry, i am coming from far way to Singapore wanna shopping but what i got is very unfriendly and very Bad attitude of the immigration officer. What's wrong if give me a hand ? if cant don't need give a rotten face of throw my passport

I am still remember the officer who throw my passport. She name is JOANNE THIAM.
I hope Singapore government paid more attention about this matter.

I wholeheartedly agree. I have found the condescending attitude of the immigration officers at the Singapore airport quite adverse to a happy entrance into Singapore. Singapore has to be one of the worst countries to enter for a visit or for a foreigner to return from leave.
