I Abdul Taiyeb Cyclewala would like to draw your attention to the redevelopment issues faced by 65 tenants of kagalwala building, 2nd peerkhan street, j. j road, mumbai-400008.
We have vacated the said building in MAY 2008 as per fake promises made by our developers m/s aaraish developers. It has been 9 years we are homeless and helpless, the builder neither provides rent regularly nor does he fulfils the promise of redevelopment.
We have gone to court and had appointed our lawyer, but as you know corruption is everywhere. The builder has gone against the HIGH COURT orders of handing our houses by FEB-15 for which we have filed a contempt notice as well in the court, but these all efforts were ineffective for him, he is least bothered.
Majority of tenants belongs to middle class family and we are abide to pay the high rents from our pockets. We hope that you will end our sufferings. Please help us by taking our issue. My maternal grand parents were staying in Kagalwala building, in peerkhan street, located at the end of the JJ flyover, Nagpada, Mumbai
Lakdwala builders got the project for redevelopment, they demolished the building in 2008, it has been 8 years but they are yet to start any work on the site.
They have even stopped paying the monthly rent.
Request you to please guide us as to where to complaint or what to do, as they need to shift every year due to the growing rents.
Despite having their own house they are now dependent on others and the builder just doesnt care
