Elegant Rags/Elegant Ragdolls reviews and complaints

Wow I just discovered this site today with numerous complaints against Elegant Ragdolls, complaints dated in 2009. You should know this breeder, Jessica Perry, used to live in Arizona before relocating to SC. I put a deposit on a ragdoll kitten back in 2008 only to be told a couple of weeks before it was time to get her that she died. Despite repeated requests that my deposit refunded, she continually stalled, so I opted to pick another kitten. The kitten I adopted was 5 months old. The first thing I noticed about her is that she didn't seem to have that ragdoll personality that this breed is so known for. She was very timid around people. She also vomited all her food for a week (I fed the Royal Canin brand of food that Jessica said she had been feeding her & then switched her to an organic cat food because she couldn't keep it down). The vet checked her out & thankfully she did not have FIV and she got al her shots. After having her for a month I was away for vacation for a week & my boyfriend stayed at my house with her. When I returned she had pink eye, so this is how I discovered my poor girl also had the Herpes virus. A few months later she developed food allergies to the organic cat food so know I have to feed her prescription cat food. I love my kitty very much & adopted a ragdoll brother for her from a different & reputable (and not exorbitant) breeder, but it pains me to know this woman is still using cats for her own financial greed & treating them like crap! They are not healthy & I think they are not treated well as kittens. Ragdolls are supposed to be super people cats & also usually get along great with other cats. I don't know that she got much love or attention from humans as a kitten. My girl is a very nervous & shy little thing, she's comfortable with me of course & very affectionate but scared of any friends or relatives who visit my home, where my male ragdoll is totally not that way (he's the epitome of the ragdoll personality). I pray that she will live a long life despite her food allergies, she's 2 1/2 now, and I love her to pieces, but I agree that this breeder should be SHUT DOWN!
