I booked six nights at Anantara Eastern Mangroves in Abu Dhabi via Asia Rooms. I received confirmation that my booking was confirmed, that payment had been taken and a voucher was issued. I received two telephone calls to check my debit card details. Two weeks later, Asia rooms sent me an email to say that the hotel had failed to honour my booking and that it had been cancelled. I expressed disappointment that this should happen having had payment taken from my account. They promised a refund. When the refund arrived it was over £60GBP short of the amount paid! Asia Rooms not only refused to make good the difference (explaining that this was due to "dynamic currency" and that my bank should sort it out) but also refused any compensation whatsoever. The moral of this story? Don't trust Asia Rooms.
Well, just to add to every other problem with Asia Rooms, this one is a beauty.
I received a formal confirmation to a reservation in their website and a confirmation number. The booking was for many months in advance but I had to wait while they checked so it was not immediate confirmation. Within days I received an email from the hotel saying THEY could not possibly honour the booking at the Asia rooms rate and that there had been some mistake. I pointed out to them that my contract was with Asia Rooms and that they should take up the matter with the agent they had engaged to make their bookings. Within a few hours I received the following from Asia rooms which as anyone can see increased the value of the accommodation by about USD2000.00.
I pointed out that this was breaking the contract that I had with them to provide the advertised service for which they had every right to have charged my credit card and for which I would be penalised if I cancelled.
They have immediately cancelled my booking, not advised me of the outcome, and since then had no further communication with me.
They also sent an email to the hotel telling them to deal directly with me instead.
I thought that the details they sent to me may be useful to others in some way as they will be of no use to me as I will never use their disgusting customer service ever again.

We booked a holiday in Asia through asiarooms.com. Unfortunately, my mother died and so we had to cancel the reservation. We telephoned the telephone number on their website, which we were surpised to read was not (as stated) located in Singapore but in Thailand. The service staff was very unfriendly and unsympathetic to our story. They said "ok, ok, we refund" and when I asked how long it would take was told "soon." Two months went by and still no refund. Many expensive calls went by which were not picked up- did these people close down or what? Finally, we made a complaint to our credit company and they sorted out the matter.
Everything that you read about asiarooms in regards to getting your money back is correct. We should have googled them before we paid, though having to pay upfront before getting a room confirmed should have started alarm bells for us. Guess we were just too dum at the time to believe they were a creditable company.
I noticed the dates of the room i booked were wrong, i tried to change the booking with Asia rooms and they said they would charge me the full price of the booking which was £750, i asked them to question the charge and confirm new dates to the hotel, it turns out they confirmed the wrong dates and also said to the hotel I was a no show. They wouldn't copy me in the emails on any of the correspondance or give me a copy of the orginal booking, eventually after 3 weeks of calls to thailand they refunded some of my money back and charged me £300. DONT BOOK THROUGH ASIA ROOMS - THEY ARE LIARS, VERY UNTRUSTWORTHY AND COULD TRY TO SCAM YOU OUT OF MONEY!
