Amica Mutual Insurance Scam

1) I turned 60 this year. When I started driving at 16, my father insured me with AMICA and for almost all the years in the decades since, my auto insurance has been AMICA. I cannot recall the last time I was at fault for an accident. When I was about 21 or so, I think. Mostly I’ve paid money into AMICA for a very, very long time.

2) Yesterday for the first time, I asked for a quote on insurance for two homes to tie everything together, home & auto. More than 24 hours later, I received a call from AMICA that because I have made homeowner's claims, that is, actually used the insurance for which I paid, AMICA will not insure me.

This is the kind of behavior I’ve long associated State Farm, shady health insurers and others. I never dreamed that AMICA pulled this sort of thing. For decades I have counseled family and friends to go with AMICA. I now feel I have misled them.

3) Another company chose to cover me without hesitation at the end of our phone conversation yesterday, and did not put me off for a day. It’s the same company that has been insuring my four other, now five, properties and the same company that paid the claims above and that has given me great service: Farmers. They have insured me for about 18 years and did not walk away today as AMICA did.

For years they have been after me for auto insurance but in spite of their discount for insuring both home and auto, I never dreamed of leaving AMICA. I stayed with AMICA because I always thought of AMICA as a superior company. That has now changed.

4) I think this treatment of a long term customer reflects poor judgment. The best companies act upon the fact that it costs less to keep a customer than to acquire a new one. I think AMICA is no longer the company I started with a lifetime ago. FYI.

Amica Mutual Insurance Why is Amica Mutual such good insurance, I do not get it

Why is Amica Mutual such good insurance. I saw they just won some award for being one of the best in the country in customer service and thats great but i would like some examples. Its not clear on the site.

I am trying to compare various insurance companies and before i make a decision i would like to know more about Amica.
