1625 Glendon Ave. Los Angeles Apartments / Marcus Pappas reviews and complaints

Lived here just under two years. It was BEYOND HORRIBLE! The landlord is a real ####, is manipulative, and as others have mentioned, does NOT maintain the property AT ALL (caps intended). I have never (ever!) had breathing problems in all of my life, but because of the mold and OTHER issues in the building, I ended up at my doctor's office several times with respiratory infections. I made several complaints to the landlord (Marcus), only to be met with eviction threats (can anybody say retaliation). And yes, this building is very shady in terms of having to have to share mailboxes with other tenants (or "roommates" as was worded on my lease). I am SO happy to be out in a nice, CLEAN, well maintained, and quiet apartment (yes they do exist in LA). Avoid this building unless you happen to enjoy being screwed over by a vindictive landlord (slumlord), inhaling mold and other toxins, and then receiving threats in the form of eviction notices (illegal), rent increases, and flat out arrogance. I hope this building rots into the ground. Recommend AVOIDING at all costs.

Landlord / Owner Marcus Pappas is nothing short of a sleazy salesman who can't manage/own properties. All he does is put lipstick on a pig while neglecting problems from actual tenants. Mail stolen, sharing mailboxes car theft, mold in apartments, shady layout of rental units, bugs and termites...? He doesn't care as long as he gets money from you every month. Everything seems fine and dandy before moving in... He is nice and sells you on location location location BUT then after biting the bate and moving in, problems start to arise. He just turns the other way and doesn't care whatsoever. God forbid you ever question or challenge him, he will run away and not answer any questions. The guy seems to have a pr -planned answer for everything.
