Ramos Law PLLC – DUI defense attorney

We acquired a DUI lawyer, of which I did research to some extent, and with all the accolades and all the years of experience and defenses listed on the website we decided to hire Paul Ramos. The price was also doable for us given our financial status too. We hired Paul Ramos and had nothing but hope and faith in his ability to find a way to help reduce the proposed sentence for my husband who was facing charges for Aggravated DUI. Now in Arizona , they use your prior criminal convictions in conjuction with the new Agg DUI regardless of whether or not there are MVD related. So we needed a lawyer to somehow get these proposed years in prison reduced and much to our disappointment not only did Paul do absolutely nothing in working with the opposing council to reach a deal in lessening the sentence but it felt as though Paul was now working with the opposing council because there had been no communication at all from him and his office with the exception of the first initial meeting we discussed the case with him to see if he would be willing to take it. He agreed to take it and then we paid, we paid in full up front. Now I did read a comment on his website which made me nervous as I was researching lawyers, but I thought the best and ignored it because I don't really like to base my judgement off of someone Elses experience because that is not fair to the person being judged. But in this case, I should have because it said, once you pay the full amount, all of a sudden, his office staff will be the ones only contacting you for scheduling etc. The sad things is this happened so fast, Paul never has never reached out after our first meeting period. I would reach out to get any updates on any previous discussions and then I would schedule, and he would not show or be in court. Then in one of our court proceedings Paul actually made the judge angry because he pushed the continuances to the point of frustration on the judge's part however the continuances which we didn't mind were not even related to us they were for his own personal scheduling conflicts, and one was his mom passing which that's totally understandable. One would think that in these continuances we would be strategizing the game plan or the fight he thinks we should propose to the court. No, this did not happen in fact, I still have yet to be updated on what his game plan was for this case and it's very sad when you're facing a lot of time and the lawyer just collected all your money and is now not even really working for you. I expected a brainstorming session or something anything. Then the last time in court we saw him pass right by us and he didn't even acknowledge we were there, and we called for him to look he ignored. Until we got louder, he said oh hi guys I'm running a little late so I can't talk I said just tell me if they are going to keep my husband today or let him leave the courthouse. Paul Ramos hesitated without any advice help or explanation. Any good lawyer with years of experience can at least give you an idea of his opinion as to what the court is leaning towards.I am extremely disappointed in his ability to compile a collaborative game plan in order to at least attempt to lessen my sentence. I am not contesting the fact of Paul can't change the hearts and minds of the prosecutors but at least show some care and concern that this is my life we are talking about not just a fine or fees but years of my life on top of years I already served and Paul couldn't even get me out of one court hearing without texting us 15 minutes after the court started talking about you have a warrant out for your arrest in the amount of $1000 then when I did get arrested, I called my lawyer because it was for this warrant that came out of that court and it was late in the night, Paul told us he had court in the morning and there wasn't nothing he could do for me and I just need to see what this judge said in the initial appearance court in the jail. I thought he had to work for the money I already paid him. I have never had a bought a paid lawyer always public defenders but even they did more for me then this paid lawyer ever did. Absolutely awful I am so disappointed in his efforts and his lack of concern for my life as it he got his money and now, I am just bothering him as if I don't exist. Last point: never once has Paul ever called to meet prior to any court hearing to prep or even inform me as to what about to happen or what I could expect. Paul has done nothing that I could not have done myself without an attorney.
