Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah about credit card

Hi,

I was a RAK Bank Credit Card holder till 11/2014 with card no. [protected] which expired on 11/2014. I had contacted RAK bank to renew my card in 2015 and received a reply that my present company is not listed, so that I am not eligible for a credit card to renew. I applied with another bank and got the same.

Now, when I wanted to cancel my RAK credit card which is expired but still active and contacted customer care center several times and got different reference numbers for my request each time. I have been waiting for a cancellation confirmation from RAK for last 15 days and no action has been taken till date.

Hence I request to RAK Bank to send me a confirmation mail saying that my credit card cancellation request has been accepted. I am not happy with the different reference numbers for the NO ACTION. I need a mail confirmation for my request without fail.

Awaiting for an immediate action from the Bank this time.

Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah loan deferment facility not available

As my company remains in closing situation, last 5 months salary not paid .

Case in court. Since I am paying my EMI without fail from  my  pocket. 

I requested to hold my EMI for next 2 months &  asked deferment facility .
Denying to do. So banks want people to runaway? Honestly we ready to pay, they dont need it? why not supporting in this situation.?
Still waiting for their support.

Dear RAKBANK Team,

I am residing in Abu Dhabi and our construction company is filing a liquidation due to financial deficit problems, now I have no salary recieved and I have to pay my personal loan to the bank. Can you help me to file a deferral for 5 months until I found a new company that will support my EMI charges for my personal loan. I am willing to pay and fiinish my debt
in response to the bank that I have borrowed ang help me tremendously.

Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah bank statement

I had visited your al quoz mall branch yesterday & signed a form to request for my personal & company bank statement. I was told i will get a message within 24 hours. I did receive a message for my personal account but nothing came up for my company. hence i called your call centre and was conected to Hazel, who told me the branch is closed now hence i need to call tomorrow. I am a very busy person, its impossible for me to call you guys and wait untill i get connected. I informed her please contact the branch tomorrow and inform them so that i can go and collect it. she wont even allow me to complete my sentence and was trying to brush me off by saying she cant do it. I dont beleive its impossible for a person to go over his or hers limit to help a customer. She was very rude. I may stop banking with you soon due to this bad experience.

Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah bank not issuing noc, even after receiving final settlement.

My name is Aby Koshy George, indian citizen by birth, now working in Singapore with Siemens Pte Ltd. as a Lead Engineer and living with my family here in Singapore since July 2014​.

I need help from you to resolve the issue in UAE. I had first started my job abroad in Abu Dhabi with a small company called Elmec where i joined as an engineer where i had to surrender my passport to thr company on first day of joining the company. It was kind of weird but as i had no choice but to surrender my passport. Later with my job and quality of work thanks to my experience i gained with ABB Ltd, Bangalore, Elmec gave me salary hike and wanted me to serve the company longer. Which i never wanted because of the working environment in the company was hostile.

People working in that company are still scared to resign because if anyone resigns. Elmec stops the payments and make them to wait for release and passport some time 3 months and sometimes 6 months and nothing can be done because passport is with them.

For this reason i had leave the company after i came back to India for my vacation. But that timr i had a credit card from RAK bank P.S.C bank in Dubai.

After coming back to India Siemens Qatar hired me and i had served the company for 5.5 yrs before moving to Siemens Singapore.

And the RAK bank credit card i was holding was having some outstanding of 16k AED. And after coming to Qatar i made payments of around 9K. But later i found RAK bank has added higher interests and all the payments i have made was negated. And started calling me saying i have outstanding balance of 23k AED. When asked for my statement bank always turned back and never gave me my statement.

And started harassing me and my family with thr local agents. Calling my family in india as IB agents, CBI agents, Police Inspectors and goons as well that they will break my hands and legs.

But i stood in my grounds and constantly asked bank for the statements so that i can know what payments i am going to make.

All this was happening from year 2009 till 2015. Constantly local agents in India called my family and family members and harassed them and threatened them.

Lately this year in May2016 i had made a deal with the bank after the bank has provided me with the statement that i will make a payment of 16000AED to settle the dispute. And the bank has also approved stating that i need to make the payment on or before 25th of May 2015 and advised me to make the payment through UAE exchange and provided me with the Bank details of RAK bank where the amount was to be credited.

And i had asked my father to make the payment from india to make the payment through UAE exchange. And as per the agreed date my father went to UAE exchange to make the payment. But UAE exchange denied to take the payment and informed my father that the information provided by RAK bank is not enough.

For which we again contacted RAK bank and they passed different exchange for remitting the amount (Muthoot Finance). And just gave the contact details. My father had called them and then they gave my father IFSC code where the money had to be transferred. We transferred the amount but it got delayed instead of 25th of may 2016 the amount got transferred on 26th of may 2016.

And now RAK bank says cannot issue the NOC and will not remove the case against me as i need to pay more to settle the case.

And now i am afraid that bank never wanted settle the case and they want to make money out of me by harassing me and my family.

I want your help to settle the case and help me out of this fraud.

Please madam i know its long email. But i am writing this email with high hopes being a great admirer of your work i hope you will help me resolve the issue. As this was my hard earned money and in my family i am the only bread winner with lots of family responsibilities. Had kept out gold on loan to pay out the agreed 16000 AED to RAK bank.

Even bank personnel had emailed to my current employee in Singapore just to cause me humiliation and to press for the amount of 29000 AED and date as per their wish without giving me any time to arrange for the money. Later the same bank personal offered settlement of 16000 AED which is paid now.

I am attaching all the required proofs as well in this email.

​You can see in attached email, how bank responded on 25th of May 2015 for email sent by me on 24th of May 2015​​​ seeking clarification on the account information sent by him, and also you can see how they have humiliated me while negotiation was on by sending email to my present employed and email id for me was wrong. Still they sent without confirming. All this while they had my personal email account, Just to pressurize me to make the payment of 29000 AED.
​Which was unfair on all business ethics and grounds.

I am seeking Justice madam, and i don't want my family to be harassed further, ​ As i had made the payment which is more than the amount i had spent on the Credit card. along with this 16K AED i had paid an amount of 9K AED to RAK bank while i was in Qatar for settlement.

Urgently Seek you attention and kind consideration to resolve the matter
And bring to justice Bank and Bank personals for all these years of harassment, abusing me and my family, and corrupt practices.

We opened an account through Ahmed ( Rak Bank employee) mobile no: [protected].

He told me and my investor that i would need a authority letter to collect the courier if the investor in whose name the account is opened is not around. When DTDC courier company called me last saturday i told them i have authority letter from my investor but they said they cant give it to me coz the bank has to write the mail to the courier company that the collecting person is different and she has an authority letter mentioning my name.

This happened last Saturday i called your employee Mr.Ahmed, he said the courier company is new and don't know the process. i said instead of doing a blame game just write a mail to Mr.Ishan, i even gave him the email ID on watsapp. He said he wil do it on Sunday. When i called him on sunday he said he has done it. when i wrote a mail to Ishan he said he didnt receive any mail from Ahmed or anybody from RAK bank, its simple Mr.Ahmed lied to me. Since then i m calling Mr. Ahmed he is not answering my calls nor did he is replying to my watsapp msgs till today and its tuesday.

Such pathetic customer service you have and till today i didnt receive my kit to transfer money. Coz of Mr.Ahmed my bills are due here, now who will pay, RAK Bank?

Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah closure of account & refunding the balance

Dear Sir/Madam,

My savings account was closed abruptly without prior notice to me via email/Mobile.
Though when I came to Rak Bank at King Faisal Street branch (Sharjah) to collect the balance on 1st May 2016 I was informed by customer service Manager whose name I believe was Saleh to come next day morning which was 2nd. I have been next day morning morning and met another customer service manager called fatima who asked me to meet the previous manager I earlier spoke to regarding my balance refund issue whom I had met on 3rd morning 8;30 to my surprise he forwarded me to a gentleman named shady probably a customer service associate.
He told me the manager's cheque was issued of 3000 aed (roughly) and was sent to ajman po box. He adivised me to collect it from there.
I went and checked with the Ajman freezone office who the directed me to Ajman Post office and after meeting the official who advised me that they haven't recieved any cheque on my name.
I came down the same day to update Mr. Shady and told him I will be leaving on 6 th and he said he has to send a mail to relevent departments to get a new cheque issue order which I am glad he did.
Next day I went to see him but he was on leave so I approached the Customer service Manager with my updated problem again who bluntly said I m sorry I cant do anything I was travelling on 6 th which was eventually a holiday and day after I was left helpless.
I am not complaining about account closure issues since you can come back at me its written in Rak Bank's T & C's page we can close any account anytime though there maybe no loans cc's or cheque bounce in my account.
All I want to know is why are pathetic people sitting on Customer Service Manager Chairs?
All in all I am suprised is Rak bank so outdated that it can't cancel its Manager Cheque which was sent to a Freezone instead of office address or personal address and Can't a Manager has simple logic of looking into the Bank system and if the cheque is Missing and not used issue a new cheque?
There are some good people like shady in Rak bank who are stuck at at junior Level and people who do not give a heed to customers problem are made managers.Though my problem was not resolved I still feel like sending a Thank q note to Mr. Shady.
At present I am outside U.A.E so I can't collect the payment personally but will be glad if someone who is into senior management of Rak Bank could transfer my money into another account.
I apologise for the blunt nature of my complaint but I have been travelling from DXB to ShJ &Ajman in taxis for 5 days to collect the money and the customer service managers were very cold and uncooperative.

This is about a credit card which i had taken from Rakbank 2 years back. I was in need
of some cash as i was suffering from financial crises. I took cash against credit card, for which Rakbank sales people were calling me and offering 10 times a day. I took 180, 000 aed. I had been paying sincerely every month.But than i went into big loss. I missed 1 month or 2 months but always paid. after paying for almost 2 yrs. every payment 5000 aed or 15000 aed for missed payments. I still have 155, 000 aed outstanding as all my payments were gone in interest. From past two months i had taken loan from my father to pay 130, 000 aed and requested collection dept to atleast consider and negotiate as i am not in state of paying full amount. They said they will do it and came to an understanding of 155, 000 aed.I didnt knew they were playing around with me to gain more interest money from me. Every time i would go to them with cash.They would say you paper is not ready and come next week.After running around they dont want to give any e-mail or contacts or even business card, so i cannot send them letter or evidence that i approached them for settlement. today they said, your letter is not ready and there is additional 4000 aed interest for this month.I dont know what to do and where to go. I am sick of these money hungry sharks. Rakbank has worst service and i am being threaten on phone every time. they call from different mobile number so that it is not recorded what abusive language they speak. They dont want to close my account so that i keep giving them interest. Please help me. I dont know where to complain for this bank and their collection dept.

My credit card No.[protected] has been unilateraly blocked by you though there is a credit balance of AED 82.00 without any intimation to me. I have been receiving credit card statement on my e-mail regularly, I visited your Umm Hureir Branch on 04.05.2016 and requested for activation of my card. I submitted all documents including my passport new visa and Emirates ID. Since then I have been in touch with you regularly and I am told to wait for 2 to 3 days. Now more that one and half month has elapsed nothing has happened. On 09.06.2016 I received a phone call for submission of my documents again which I forwarded to customercenter@rakbank.ae and I was assured that it shall be activated within 2 working days. To my surprise today again I received a call from Mr. John who is asking for documents again. Please redress my complaint at the earliest possible. I am having my salary account with you and it is very easy for me to make the payment of credit card.

Please go and complain to the Central Bank of UAE for sure this Bank will accommodate you...there are alot of complain with these bank already.. you can register complain online. search in google "Central Bank of UAE" then find complain option.

I have been contacting them to change my email to get me statements on time. Since I am out of UAE I am not able to check the mail on my office email. Tried to contact many numbers including EYAD collections manager Abu Dhabi

I raised a complaint against my credit card due amount 4-5 months back but still its not resolved my last 2 request numbers are SR2772846 and SR2894260. I already sent few emails on collections@rakbank.ae, estatement@rakbank.ae but no one is interested to respond back. Kindly suggest what can I do.

Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah cheque return

Sir,
We have deposited a Cheque for AED. 9823.90 on 09-03-2016 at 8.58 am. Even after two working days above said Cheque was either credited in our account nor informed us any issues. We have approach the branch where we had deposited Cheque (Sharjah Ind.Area Branch) on 13th morning and was told Cheque has been send by courier. understood Cheque was only given to courier only 12th evening. Cheque returned being recent difference in figure and words, . as we know all the banks locally and internationally accept the way it is written. We would like to know why Rak Bank only not accepting the method we have adapted. Kindly Check the attached copies and give us the reason for unacceptable disturbance to the customer.

I am struggling in Financial Difficulties for more than 2 years already, due to medical issue of my father and my sister who undergone operation ( bypass operation and Breast Mastectomy due to Ductal Carsinoma) I agree that I missed my 2 months payment and accumulate it into 3 months, but I am paying it when ever I have extra money. The worse Scenario was one of the collection agent called me an threat me that they will come to my office to humiliate me and will let the COMPANY to Terminate me. Is that how they treat their Client? I have been a client of RAK BANK since 2008 and I am a good payee until such time I encounter the Financial Crisis, but I know my obligation, that is why even small amount I am paying it. HOW CAN I PAY THEM IF THEY WILL LET THE COMPANY TERMINATED ME? Are they have a right to do such things to us CLIENT? Are they have the right to Jeopardize us in our Bread and Butter? They treat us ARROGANTLY AND IT IS UNACCEPTABLE. I hope it will help me and to those who are suffering same situation I am experiencing now.

I went today to collect my debit card for Click and Collect, fast saver account in Oud Metha Branch. I had my passport and copy of my emirates ID with me and before I began I asked the guy who was processing my documents if I could proceed with emirated ID copy and he called the manager ( Youssef Issa) and he said it's okay and he completed my documents. He forwarded the document to Youssef Issa and he checked my documents and asked the reason why I didn't had my emirates ID, I explained him that I was in vacation last week for a period of two weeks and my ID was with my company, and he completed my documents and asked me to do the deposit and complete my telephone banking. I completed both then he came up to me and told me that he won't give me my debit card. I asked him the reason and he told me that I don't have my emirates ID. If you won't give me my card then why did you porceeded the document I asked him then he told me that there must have been a miscommunication, what kind of miscoummunication is there I asked him since you are the on who authorise to proceed the document and finalized it? He told me that I should bring my emirates ID today or he will freeze my account, I asked him why and he said there is nothing he could do about it. Later in the afternoon around 2:40 I came to the bank again with my emirates Id and he told me that the bank is about to close and why did I came late? What kind of question is it that a staff asks to a customer? Does a Senior Customer Service Officer do not have to follow any rules and can be rude to a customer and ask and do whatever he wants? As a customer do I not have any rights to be treated well? I have never seen such rude manager in any banking sector. For a reputed company like you it a shame that a customer is treated like this.

Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah fake online funds remittance offer

This is to inform that Rak Bank recently had an offer email sent to all its customer about the free online remittance for 3 months. It is valid until 23 April 2016. I transferred 5000 dhs. To my surprise they deducted the dhs 5000 plus dhs 130 as a remittance charges. This is like making fool of their customers. The worst part is money is also not credited to my other bank account yet. What a piece of crap Rak Bank.

Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah misleading/lies rakbank staff (insurance policy)

I got the same complain with other clients here that Mr. Afzar Rizvi (RAK Bank Ibn Batutta Branch) told me that I can get my full amout of money after 2 years of Policy. When i went to the branch after my 2nd year has been finish they told me that I can't get my money back after 2 years. I put up 18006 for 2years and they will only give me 8006. Ive lost more than 10000aed because of this bogus/misleading of RAK BANK agents and the worst thing is, its not only me but also one of my colleague. They said that they are no longer responsible for this. Please send me message here or leave a comment or your contact number for those who got the same complaint and we will go directly to the central bank of UAE to do the complaint for them to do the necessary action for those who have victimized a lot of innocent people.

I already complain and they didn't do anything! This is a big LIE from RAK BANK staffs...misleading clients for just their own benefit?are you becoming rich because of this BOGUS? You should have fool those business man so you can get more money and not from those people who are poorer than you! You have fooled alot of people but I'll make sure CENTRAL BANK will do something about it...

I have been conned by the same way too. The representative told me I can withdraw the money after minimum payment of 2 years. They tell us what to say when they call for verification. They also urge us to sign the documents then and there without filling anything. My colleague and I did this because of the trust we had on RAKBANK and not on SALAMA. Now, I wanted to reclaim the money so I browsed through the file they gave. I was shocked to see the encashment table. After seeing so many complaints on Internet I am sure that this is an organized scam.
If anyone still in this thread, please let me know what to do now.

I also invested in Salama based on wrong information and commitment given by Rak Bank executive. It was confirmed to me that after 2 years i can withdraw my investment in full. But after 3 years when i called Salama for the same, they denied saying 20000 dirhams they have already invested and I will get only 8000 dhs. Rak Bank is conning people with wrong informations and earning money by cheating people who are trusting on them and investing from there hard earned salaries.

My second negative experience with RAK bank. In 2013 First they closed my bank account for NO reason explained, - "Business Decision" - they say, but it means nothing really. Just recently 2015 Refused to issue a simple prepaid card for NO reason again. All my docs and visa all good, sal+10k but still no...and NO explanation what is wrong? I cannot recommend this bank to any of my friends.

I applied for a credit card with RAK bank and have spent every day since regretting it! To start off, the representative who contacted me at 7pm informed me of the required documentation and requested my HOME ADDRESS to collect same within an hour. After informing him that I will not provide my home address he requested to collect the documents from my place of work the following day at 12pm. I proceeded to inform him that I will only be able to speak to him at 1pm as I work with members of the public and need to wait until my lunch time (which is 1pm) to conduct personal business. He, in turn, advised me that he has other appointments at that time and insisted to see me at 12pm. I informed him that I would rather apply through a consultant who can cater to my needs and who respects the fact that I have to conduct personal matters in my personal time. He then agreed to see me at 1pm. Upon collection of my documentation he advised that the bank statements I provided where unacceptable as my account number did not reflect. I advised him that I would collect a statement from my bank in my free time and call him when I have it. He then insisted that I use his phone to log in to my mobile banking to get the statement. I refused to do so and reiterated that I would collect the statement when I have time and inform him telephonically when I have same. The very next morning he proceeded to call me 6 times insisting that I have the statement ready for collection that evening. Once again, I told him that I would get it when I have time and phone him when I have it. But considering the consultants demanding attitude, I was becoming increasingly reluctant to do so. The consultant in question and his colleagues have since been harassing me via phone and visiting my place of employment demanding my bank statements. Each time I tell them to be patient and allow me to collect the statements at my leisure, they completely ignore me and continue to harass me. I have now CANCELLED my application and will never do business or recommend anyone to do business with this bank EVER. I have never experienced such a high level of incompetent and extremely poor customer service. Rak bank should seriously consider providing customer service training for their staff as they will have a great decline in new customers should they continue with their demanding and harassing approach.

Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah relationship managers who are not trained on how to treat customers

To whomsoever concerned,

This is to bring to your kind notice about the poor or worst customer service that I have been receiving from an employee, who is apparently our relationship manager from your bank for my account – Mr. Manoharan. From the very beginning every single assistance that I have requested him in relation to banking facility he has either given me a negative response or shown unwillingness to help me. It is customers like us that hold your brand reputation and can even spread word of mouth.

Last conversation we had was to enquire for salary transfer facility from RAK bank, to that he gave me an answer I am busy picking my wife up, I waited until the next day to meet him. When I met him the next day he said, a small change is there, please go back and change the form. He refused to understand the urgency and he even suggested I am free to change the bank if required. It’s a shame you have such employees in your reputed bank who doesn’t value customer or customer service or even have etiquette. I need:

1. An official apology from Mr. Manoharan for being of no use from the beginning and not being of any help being our relationship manger
2. A new helpful relationship manager who is willing to help their customers

I am tired of being bounced from one end to the other, he tells me go to the branch and sort your problem, the branch tells me talk to your relationship manager.

I am/we are extremely disappointed by the service and request you to take a strong action and give me a solution to my concern. For any further enquiries, please feel free to get in touch with me on email [protected]@gmail.com

Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah Rudeness

Today i experienced a rude customer service from RAK bank in Khalidiyah Branch in Abu Dhabi, first of all, the lady manager who seated at the entrance of the bank, will never smile / greet you when you greet her, instead she will show you her sour face. I was there to collect my liability letter, so she printed the letter for me. I asked about the clearance procedure, as in Commercial bank of dubai is going to take over the credit card, so she said sit there( where i was seated) and wait for any vacant customer service agent free and i can consult any of them. Two days later, i have an emergency coming up, that required me to leave UAE on the 13th aug for 10 days time, so i went to the bank to sign any clearance letter upfront, as the cheque is already approved but will be deposit on the 14th august.( FGB, NBAD allowed me to sign the clearance letter in advance and the cheques will be deposit by CBD just the next day), so This guy told me is not possible. He told me my liability letter is expired, which is not true, i know the letter is valid for 15 days, moreover it was applied only 2 days ago. Clearly he doesn't very sure. then every questions i asked he is asking his colleagues around for answer, finally he told me it is not possible to sign anything but he can't explain why. I asked for manager, at least i want to know what is thereupon i can't sign right? She was looking at me from far and didn't even come to me ( the distance between the me and her at that moment was only two table away and there are no other customer as it was only 9 am ) He came back to tell me it is a procedure that they have to have the cheque present and only they will process. Fine, procedure is procedure, then i asked what is the other option? He said i have to do that all over again since i am going to travel for 10 days. My question is i need to pay 100dhs again? he has to ask somebody else again, I said to him why the manager doesn't come to me when i asked for her? and she is not busy, apart of looking at her phone, and the rest of the people working there are chit chatting with each other and laughing? where is the respect for the customer? He raise his voice and told me stopped shouting at him ! i was not even shouting, nor raise my voice, i just said thank you for the service, this is absolutely unacceptable and i am definitely going to file a complaint about the rudeness.

Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah payment schedule not available with rakbank

Dear All,
I visited Sharjah King Faizal Br. to get repayment schedule of my vehicle ln. But the agent Mr. Aden Raslan sitting there told me there is no option in his system to give you the requested schedule. Even the sales agent from RAK bank also talked to him. But he was not cooperating. So I made a complaint through customer service with ref No. SR2435523. After so many calls from RAK bank they informed me that the branch investigated the matter and the agent did not tell that it was not possible to give the schedule. Even i told them to check with the sales agent who processed the ln. But RAK they tell not possible and whatever you say cannot be verified. If you need schedule visit again the branch. I told them i visited earlier and your people irresposible and misleading customers. So I dont know what to do now.

Rakbank / The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah late fees charge and other charges without any detail calculations

My current month (July statement ) showing additional charges (late fees) which shall not be applicable as I have make the payment in time.There is no due date on the credit card statement instead it is written as immediately which did not show any time frame or due date. There are no detail calculation / break up of charges applied such as finance charges, credit shield charges (All charges shall show the break up of calculations that how such amount is arrived)
